Stan Z
When I bought my moneywort of course it came bundled. I planted the bundle together. Is it better to separate the plants a little first?
TheSwissAquarist
It doesn't make much of a difference to be honest, just look out for rot on the bottom; otherwise it's smooth sailing.

The parent plant will sprout new growth, and the cut off part will grow roots and then start getting taller, so one plant turns into two. Repeat as needed. Stan Z
I did find a little rot at the bottom. A new stem had come up about 4 inches and it floated loose. Looked like rot at the bottom end. I’m letting it float right now. It has a couple of roots.
Robstar
I learned something interesting today. Cory said in his live stream today that stems should be planted 1" apart from each other to give the leaves room to spread out.
Stan Z
When I did the water change today I tried to separate and replant the moneywort stems. Not a lot of roots, and two small stems would not stay in. I have small gravel 3/8”-1/2”. Maybe that’s not the best substrate for roots. Would it work better if I wrapped the roots with dirt or sand in cheesecloth or something?
Robstar
You could use sand, but dirt might mess up your water parameters. I also saw someone on YouTube tie a rock to the bottom with sewing thread.
