Show me your planted 30 breeder?

I've tried and tried to like my 29g tank but I think I've come to realize I will never be happy with it because I just hate the depth, so I am planning to swap it out for a shallower tank.

I love the proportions of my 20g long but on behalf of the fish (mostly swordtails) I hate to downsize them, so I am thinking of moving to a 30 breeder.

In order to do that, I'd have to replace the marble slab that the tank sits on with a longer one, and that means finding someplace else for a 10g that's on another stand next door to it, so it's not quite as easy as running out to pick up a new tank, but... almost.

Anyway, I would love to see other people's 30g breeders to whet my appetite for creating this change!

I hate to be “that guy” but why not go for a 40 breeder? It's only 3” deeper and costs less than the 30 breeder.

The architecture of my house leaves me with very little blank wall space for tanks. I'm constantly measuring and checking to see what size tank will fit in what spot and I understand needing a specific tank for a specific spot, but its usually the length of the tank that is the problem, not the depth.

I guess because I don't want to find out after the fact that I don't like it's depth either. Out of all my tanks, the only one I love is my 20g long. The 20 tall is the same height as a 40 breeder and I can tolerate it better than the 29, but do not find it actively pleasing. I really want that "Yes!" feeling when I look at my tanks.

That makes sense. I'm considering switching my 75g out for a 60 breeder because it's shorter. I’ll lose 15 gallons but growing plants and doing maintenance might be much easier. 🙂
