Quarantine question

My lfs recently got in some cobra endlers and some ember tetras, which I want to get for one of my aquariums, but I don’t know if those fish are in the same tank in the store. If those two fish are in separate tanks in the store, could I quarantine them together?

I know none of my LFS are super careful about cross contamination. They use the same nets and specimen containers for all the tanks and go from one tank to another with wet hands. So in my case I would QT them together as they likely would have been exposed to the same illnesses and parasites by that point anyway.
