Fishgirl from CT
Hello. I'm hoping someone can answer my question. Two years ago I purchased 4 bags of Caribsea Eco Complete with the hopes of using them for my new 32.5 fluval flex. Sorry to say- life happened, Covid, etc so the tank was never set up. I'm now ready to set the tank up and I'm wondering if the bacteria in the bags is still good? One bag looks a little greenish 🤢. Ive tried contacting Caribsea and got no reply!! Anyone have any idea?
AnimalNerd98
As long as they are unopened, I think you should be fine. I’ve seen green in my bags before, it’s just algae.
nabokovfan87
Just rinse it good. Eco Complete from what I'm seeing is literally just small lava rock turned into gravel with bacteria added. Don't rely on that bacteria after all this time and just rinse it, do your normal things like you would for any new tank.
