Atomicfish
In my opinion don't ever by fish from Meijer. I went into my local Meijer today and the fish don't look too good and a lot of them are pretty expensive.
Tanked
In @JoeQs topic: What is killing the hobby? I said: "The employee that assists you, will sell you what you think that you need/want, and may have been stocking socks or groceries minutes earlier". Meijer was the store I was thinking about. The last time I checked, the few fish my local Meijer had looked ok, but there were a lot of empty tanks. Two of my Angelfish are rescues, originally purchased at that store. They are doing fine and hopefully will be a successful breeding pair someday. It would be interesting to know how big box department stores determine care and staffing for the pet department. When I visit these store, the first thing I do is look at all of the tanks. The number of dead or dying fish is a pretty good indicator of the kind of care they receive.
