Hi!
I´m planning to try out a BCB bag (caught the idea from Dr Novak) in my sump.

But I'm having the hardest time finding claybased kitty litter that is NON-clumping (baked) here in Sweden. There is a few option for the clumping kind made from 100% clay, but by my experience that doesn't work.
The kitty litter turns into a "mush" that clouds the water, asi it seems, indefinately...

Is there any alternative to kitty litter? And is it just a matter of CEC?

Thanks!

So this could work (see picture)? It is burned clay. Judging by it's color it seems to contain some iron?

23 USD for 15l (4 gallons) isn't crazy expensive.

I guess I should pack the material pretty tight in the bag to ensure that the water mostly passes around the bag and not through it?

The stuff used to soak up oil (Oil-Dry is made with clay.)

I use special kitty litter (Walmart) and yes it got mushy but when I removed and checks the BCB the kitty litter was good. (Kitty litter is used with laterite.)
