TheG2What Posted February 15, 2022 Share Posted February 15, 2022 I'm not good with plant names, so I'm not sure what these are called, but what is the best part of these tall stem plants to trim them? I'm hoping I can trim the tops of them and re-plant them. I'm thinking I should trim just below where two leaves are growing off the main stem. Is that accurate? Thanks in advance! Flumpweesel Posted February 15, 2022 Share Posted February 15, 2022 That works for me. Remember the original stem will in most cases put out branches from just below the cut line to. I cut mine quite low when I be want bushier cover or just trim the excess length when it's out of control them just weight and drop the cuttings. Silly thing is when your tank is full it starts to feel wasteful to throw cuttings. The only thing I’d recommend is cutting just above, not below a node where the two leaves come out of the stem. That way the tops of the newly cut plants look good and you have a bit of stem on the cut part that makes it easier to replant. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
