Chances of spawning L134 in huge densely planted tank

Would it be possible for L134 plecos to spawn fry and have them survive without intervention in a densely planted 180 gallon aquarium? Most of the tank is densely covered with plants that are 8” to 16” tall with big leaves. There are lots of pleco caves and cholla wood under the foliage with no predators that can penetrate it. 

I currently have 5 unsexed L134s and I simply want to increase their population rather than selling them.

Sure. I've had a few baby plecos (Super Reds) survive in my vastly overstocked 50-gallon tank surrounded by ravenous swordtails. It's not easy for them, but a few have dodged the hungry swordtail gauntlet. Most get eaten, but a few have managed to survive.

Same with my group of longfin BN plecos, finding more and more of them in the overstocked 45 (diamond, black phatoms, red eye tetras and some other random fish) with similar setup to yours @2000tetras- cholla wood piles, watering spikes and real pleco caves and a coconut hut covered with plants.

I have corys spawn and successfully survive it in planted, heavily barb-stocked 125 gallon all the time. I started with 2 salt and pepper corys about 5 years ago and have maybe 30 now.  Not sure about plecos, but with the corys, the key is having a lot of cover lower down, like a dense carpet, or rocks they can hide inside the nooks and crannies of until they large enough to not get gobbled up.

The only real issue with baby plecos is they're apt to want to explore higher up on the glass away from cover which makes them easy pickings. A few are typically smarter though and lie low and survive.
