Co2 solenoid

Recommended Posts

This will get the job done but it runs hot.

For what it's worth, I have two DIY kits and one 5lb co2 tank in the house and they all look like they have the same fitting for a solenoid. Regulators might not be universal but the solenoids sure look to be. The solenoid attaches in-line to the same fitting as your bubble counter.

Runs hot?

Ya, physically hot. The solenoid doesn't just use electricity momentarily to open a valve, it uses it constantly to hold the valve open. It's doing a lot of work and generates a lot of heat. The inexpensive ones tend to do that. Higher quality solenoids don't have that issue as much.
