You only need a small container for the Epsom salt soak.  You can mix a gallon of the solution then use it in almost any type of container that is big enough for the fish to move around a bit, like a specimen container, a good sized bowl, a small pitcher, etc. Best if you can see through the sides to monitor her behavior.  You don’t have to fill the container, just a couple inches of solution is enough for a white cloud.  Your single gallon of mix should work for several soaks.

Could be egg bound or the start of Dropys what I would do is quarantine and do  Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes for 5 days as Epsom salt  acts as a muscle relaxant to help release her eggs and it will also help with any possible fluid buildup and a course of metroplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks IMG_20230115_234815.jpg.a3581ed3b19939d92f43bd2558381359.jpg

@Colui have a 3 gallon hospital tank. I put her in it with epsom salt for 15 minutes, (((then do a 100% water change)))? or do I need another container? Could I do the bath part in a fish only Lowe’s bucket? Sorry for all the questions

  3. Water presenters are normal. No ammonia or nitrites. Nitrates under 20. KH 80 and GH 75. It’s a new tank and I’m using a sponge and filter floss from my goldfish tank.

  4. Hello everyone. I’ve had my golden white cloud mountain minnows for about a year. I just moved them from a ten gallon to a 29 gallon. I have one female with a huge belly. She is just floating on some water sprite at the top. She move if I nudge her but that’s all. Egg bound? If so, can I do anything. I’m not very good with diseases and infections yet.

  5. Hello All,

I have 1 Rubber Lip Plecco in a 10 gallon with a dozen White Clouds. I’ve had him for about 3 months. He hangs out underneath my sponge filter. The only time I see him is when I clean the sponge. Is this normal? He is small, does he/will he need a bigger tank?

  6. I have tiny white worms on my substrate and glass. They come out when I feed and then disappear into the substrate. Detritus Worms? Not sure they are tiny. I never see them swimming just hanging out on substrate and glass. They don't show well on pictures

  7. Thank you for the info!!! The adults are in a different tank. Babies are growing slowly. I will try some of your suggestions. I've been mostly giving Rapashy powder and crushed/ground up xtreme Flakes.

  8. Now I'm the paranoid parent!!! I've had this 7gal spawning tank set up for about 3 months, changing mops every couple of days. After having no action I thought maybe my minnows were still to young so I have been ignoring it. Today something caught my eye and sure enough there were fry. I checked the nitrates and they were at 80. I changed about a gallon of water and plan to do the same tomorrow to slowly get them down to 20ppm. I am feeding rapashy community powder.

    Thoughts?

  9. I have 2 fancy, 2 regular Commits and a longtail commit. The latter just dug up and ate a root tab. He was coughing up dirt for a half hour, no apparent health issues.

I have golden minnows in another tank and just saw 6 or 7 fry in my spawning tank. First babies ever for me!!!!

  10. Yep, I'm at 74. I've only had the loaches for 2 months or so. When I got them they hid under the sponge filters. I thought they were afraid of the goldfish. After about 2 weeks I started see them out and about, more and more. Now I think that they were starving when I got them and just munching continuously on the sponges. The are fun to watch now
