You hardly need any salt to detoxify nitrite. 1/2 tablespoon per 20 gallons raises the toxicity of long-term exposure to almost 4 ppm NO2-N.
I wouldn't worry about your test too much. It's normal for trace amounts to show up once in a while. As long as it doesn't keep getting higher.
Ok thanks. I’ll just keep checking it for now to see if it wouldn’t go higher.

@CT_ Just in case. How much salt is needed?

@CT_ isn’t it bad for plants to add salt?

I'd say it's reading an incredibly small nonzero amount. I'd keep an eye on it and test again in 12 to 24 hours.
Yes, I’m gonna monitor it. Thanks

The 0ppm color on my API keys looks more blue. Using my key I would read your tank water as 0ppm.
I’m getting confused because the color of the solution in the 2nd picture(tap water) is light blue which is much closer to the 0ppm in the chart.

Hey @Colu. How much water change would you recommend if there’s elevated nitrite or even ammonia in the water? I just tested my tank water and measured 0.25ppm of nitrite in it.

@Coluoh man! Oh well. I think I’ll just give up on this. To be honest, I’ve exhausted all my resources already and no longer capable to spend. I’ll just leave them alone and whatever happens to them, so be it. Anyway, thanks for all the tips.

@ColuI don’t think it’s a poop. It literally like a tiny string attached in its anus that doesn’t go away since the first time I spotted it 4 weeks ago. Yeah, the fish eats a lot and doesn’t look like it’s losing weight. So I guess, I’ll stop worrying for now.

@GatorI do have live plants with algae growing on them. But I also have veggie pellets that I feed to my fish regularly. Do you think that would provide roughage?
-
@GatorIf it’s parasite, does it mean that the meds I used didn’t work?

It can take 2-3 courses of treatment 1 week apart.
Wait! If I remember correctly from Cory’s video, he suggested to treat again with ParaCleanse 2 weeks after the end of the first course.

Thanks a lot @Colu!

It can take 2-3 courses of treatment 2 weeks apart I would recommend ordering Fritz expel p @quikv6 suggested you can treat with paracleanse while you waiting for it to arrive if it is wasting disease paracleanse will have no effect you could also treat with maracyn for the fin rot while dosing paracleanse
So, I decided to order Expel-P today and will arrive in 3 days. How should I use it so I’d be ready when it arrives?
