I have been using a cheap siphon and a 5 gallon bucket to fill up and drain my tanks for about 3 years and need a change. I have seen the cool thing md fiahtanks has and was wondering if anyone else has made something like that. I have a canister filter that isnt in use if that could be useful.
Thanks!

That cholla wood will be amazing for your shrimp!

If you could i would get a weather loach they are so elegant and beautiful when they swim and arent aggressive.

I have 8 giant danios in a 55 right now and would not recommend it to anyone they are mean.

I do a layer if fluval stratum then some gravel and finally a top layer of inert sand. The stratum gives the plants nutrients, the gravel holds them in place and gives the benificial bacteria a place to live and grow. The sand is for looks. Hope that helps!

I would add some live stem plants like pearl weed or elodia to pick up excess nutrients.

Thanks @Jennifer V, I do have plants. Lots of betta safe fake plants to use a filler too. Appreciate any and all tips on keeping pest snails. You have no idea how careful I've been to keep them out of my house... until now 🙂
I asked my daughter if she wanted to try something like that @Mydonkeyfish. She's creeped out by my cherry shrimp so that was a fast pass. It came down to a puffer or an african dwarf frog. I'm liking her choice but I'm sure the frog would've been great too.
Inverts are my favorite!

This is going to be my first time trying to breed fish! I have had guppies breed in a 55 gallon and i bought a dwarf crayfish not knowing it would be berried the next day. What plants do you recommend and do they like a lot or a little bit of flow?

I am working on my 75 gallon tetra tank and have an extra 20 gallon laying around. I love apistogramma cacatoides but have never had them before. How would i go about setting up a breeding tank for them?
Thanks so much!

I left the light off for 3 days and my anubias grew more leaves. If that is helpful
