  1. Hi fellow fish lovers!

I have been doing some research online and have not found too much information about traveling with an aquarium.

First off, this would be in a RV, moving 2 to 4 times a year. I would love to get some ideas, feedback, considerations, etc.

This group has a lot of the same values as myself, and I value everyone's opinions.

    So let's start brainstorming!

My first thoughts, maybe a smaller tank, possibly cylindrical, maybe even something to put in the truck while moving the camper...

  2. I am looking for other hobbyists in or around my area.

One of my fish is outgrowing my tank (29 gallon). I am hoping to rehome him, he was one of our first fish when we started just over a year and half ago. We fell into the trap of depending too much on a big boxes fish knowledge(never again!). Once we got him home we realized he would easily outgrow our 10 gallon, and its now time for him to be in a 55 gallon or bigger.

He is a Monodactylus sebae (African Moony). He was never transitioned to brackish or salt water, and has done great in a fresh water planted tank. Not sure his sex, but we call him Charley. He is approximately 7 inches tall, maybe 5 inches long, and not even an inch wide. We did learn that his breed prefers a community, unfortunately he was the only one we could find in a 50 mile radius. So if you happen to have this species, it would be a match made in heaven!

If anyone in the area is interested please let me know! We are sad to let him go, but we know he deserves a bigger tank and bigger friends.

  3. Hello again fellow fish/snail/shrimp lovers!

I finally purchased the trio of medications that Cory recommends to treat your quarantine tank with.

    - ParaCleanse

    - Maracyne

    - Ich X

Since I just got a quarantine tank, and had not ever treated my original fish I went ahead and treated the 29 gallon as well, just to be safe.

So yesterday it was pretty blue from the Ich X and I was expecting that. But today, 20+ hours later it has gotten EXTREMELY cloudy all of a sudden. Is this normal? I just want to make sure my fish are safe, they do not seem to be under a stress right now. I was just curious if anyone else has had this happen or if this is part of the process.

Thanks for any help/feedback! I really appreciate this group and being able to ask questions to others who are familiar with the Aquarium Co-Op products and videos.

    All the best!

  4. Not sure where else to get help on this.

Today I noticed these little egg type looking spheres throughout my tank. Yesterday they were not there. And today there are at least 12 (that I can see) spread randomly on the bottom of my 5.5 gallon tank.

Does anyone know what these are? I have 1 mystery snail, 1 ghost shrimp, and 1 molly fish (currently being treated for ich).

I have noticed some tiny new, possibly nerite, snails that must have come with some new plants I got over 2 weeks ago.

The "eggs" look slightly yellow fluid filled with some air bubbles(?) in them??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

  5. Hi everyone!

I am excited to be a part of this forum. I started in the hobby... about a year and half ago now. Still feel like a newbie. But after finding Aquarium Co-Op it has really helped my confidence though, as well as my love for the hobby!

Currently I have a 29 gallon and a brand new 5.5 gallon, both semi-planted(?), there are plants in both. I am hoping to add more plants to my 29 gallon soon, give it a revamp with somewhat of an aquascape. My fish are a bit of a hodge-podge. In the 29 we have 1 monosabae (who has gotten huge!), 1 golden algae eater, 2 mollies, and 1 mystery snail. I had a mess of ich awhile back and lost most of my mollies, I will soon be adding more to get a better group. In my new 5.5 I only have 1 ghost shrimp (poor guy was unsellable and given to me for free at my local pet store) and 1 mystery snail (again the only one at my local store). This small tank is really meant as a quarantine tank, but for now I have plants and these two cuties in it.

I again just want to thank the Aquarium Co-Op for all the valuable information and ongoing work you all do! I have learned so much and am excited to keep growing!! I LOVE the Sponge Filters and Finnex Stingray lighting! Waiting on another one for my small tank. 🙂

    Wishing everyone happiness!
