Thank you, yes sorry I did say female. I meant male. The peacocks will have a different setup then. The amount of babies I get isn't the issue. But the stress! So I'll put them in my 15g orb. They will do great in there! Have a great day and thanks again 😊

I've set up a 75g planted. I have some small rainbow fish, longfin white clouds and platinum halfbeaks! I'll add others as I go along. I put my apistgramma pair in there. She will spawn. As she has a few times in a 20g long! I have lots of hiding places and many breaks in line of sight. I want to add some peacock gudgeons! Because they are bottom dwellers how safe is it for me to do? The peacocks will spawn as well. Both species are known for having to remove the female after spawning! Can these 2 species get along in the 75g even during spawning?

@Sandy for the most part most plants do NEED co2. Sure, they'll benefit from it and do very well with co2, but I wouldn't say its necessary.
Thank you

Thank you that explanation makes sense to me. I don't know how to use Co2 yet. I have a lot of research to do.

Thank you Roy. So if I wanted to go brighter I would need Co2?

i would wager that 1 light will do the job. no sense in buying 2, as if you are not happy with 1 you can always add another later.
Thank you , I'm not necessarily stuck on fluval either. It can be a different brand. I just want to make sure I buy the right light for what I want my plants to do. They're so expensive and I'd like to get it right the first time.

I'm going to upgrade my lighting on my 75g because I really want to have a better planted aquarium with some harder plants and carpeting. It is a standard 75. So my question is should I buy 1 or 2, 48 in" 3.0 lights?
Information says that the high lighting requires Co2. I don't know how to set those up. It'll have to be another topic later!
All input for the lights is welcome. Although best from very knowledgeable planted tank keepers w/o Co2. I'm new to keeping high requirement plants!
Thank you Sandy

First time having a 5 gallon and I wasn't sure if the small would fit in the tank.

Great thank you Dawn! I do that with my bigger tanks as well. But these tanks are for Bettas so I don't want to use the HOB. They will have to much flow. I'll do the small sponge filter though. Again thank you

I have 2 5 1/2 gallon Betta tanks. I'm wanting to order sponge filters. Does anyone know the height of the small one. I don't think nano will be good enough because it's pretty small. I need some advice from someone who is using them. Thank you

Hi, Daniel,
the temperature in the tank dropped to 70. Igot a new heater yesterday and plugged it in, but the guy whom I was consulting with, he sells fish meds, told me to do the water change and not change the temperature for 24 hours. Also he suggested it might be pH burn, because some tetras were Slightly discolored and had pale spots at the tale. And I run the co2 which can drop the pH and it did to 6.6 which is still in a normal range I suppose? I also stumbled upon Cory’s video where he mentioned stray currents due to filter breakage. Or could it be a CO2 build up?
And replying to Sandy, I don’t know what parasites to treat for, that is why I contacted the guy who sells meds. There is no visual signs of anything, like fungus or worms. I lost one more tetra today:(Internal paracites. I think I'd start ick meds now. If spotting is showing up. Try to share a picture for everyone to see. People on here can help you better!

I'm not sure. I'm not an expert. I only shared what I saw Cory say yesterday! He totally believes in bladder snails and MalaysianTrumpet for the algae. I guess they love the stuff. Some fish eat it to I just don't know what kind. Steenfott has a live stream going right now you could ask him. Probably get more information about it.
-
Hi you should probably treat the rest of the fish for fungus and such as if they're new fish in quarantine. Also treat for parasites! Cory has many videos about it and sells the med trio on his website.

Can someone help me identify what is going on with my Anubias? Is this an algae or a fertilizer deficiency? I have a bit of BBA or hair algae on my pothos roots, but it is relatively on control at the moment, only in a few spots. I swapped to Easy Green a few weeks ago, though this has been going on for a while before then. I also reduced lighting intensity and duration a few weeks before swapping fertilizer. I have been using Seachem root tabs for my root feeders. Not a lot of growth in my Amazon sword or crypts, but they don't look bad, just a few bad leaves. I have what I think is an Ozelot sword that is not doing well either.
I just saw a video on this. Its common for anubias to do it. You need lots of snails. Cory's last fish room video yesterday talks about this algae. He uses bladder and Malaysian! I have it on mine too.

This is what I got from my first time doing shrimp summer tubbing. I put 40 shrimp into a 110 gallong stock tank with a bunch of crypts and a few water Lillies I have brought about 200 to a store to trade in for store credit and I still have hundreds left. This is a holding tank for them until I can bring the rest in to be sold. I would love to see some of your shrimp tubs.
I will not be shipping. I'm just selling local in the twin cities area to stores for credit I'm still trying to stock my 300 hill stream 😅
They're really gorgeous shrimp!

Apistgramma and Peacock Gudgeons

anewbie,
thank you for the advice! I'm not adding any bottom feeders now. I'm going to put the peacocks in my Orb. It's a 15g with rice fish. I'm not even putting my BN in the 75g because they've proven they like to snack on my sword plants.
Thanks again for your help
