The added driftwood came out looking amazing! Great job of breaking down parts that didn't fit. Can't even tell from the pic. Also, it sounds like you ordered some cool plants. I've never even heard of a few of them. Lol.
You have a beautiful looking betta. Can't wait to see him in his new home.

That is pretty wild! Crazy how a very slight change can fix problems or introduce new ones. Glad it worked out for you.

It looks like you have a solid plan in place going forward. Good luck with the breeding. I hope to see how it goes, if you're planning to share your progress that it.

That is so awesome!!! Getting root tabs to stay cleanly in the substrate is a pain sometimes. I'm amazed how people come up with these brilliant solutions.

The tank is progressing nicely! Looking forward to seeing how you incorporate the driftwood.

I am in Arizona have very hard water. I don’t have guppies but I have zebra danios and otocinclus and they seem fine in the water.
Thank you for that tidbit. I always thought that otocinclus were sensitive, but I'm glad they are a possible option for me. Always found them super cute.

So 300 or over GH doesn’t scare you ? Just treat with prime and start the tank running , no additional stuff ?
It would only scare me if I was trying to keep fish that do well in soft, acidic water. I used to be big into goldfish and they did well in my water as well.

I honestly think your guppies will do great in your water once the tank is cycled and ammonia is at zero. My water parameters seem to be similar to yours and I think my guppies are thriving; pH: 7.8, GH: 300, KH: 180.

I had 7 billion Koi Tuxedo Guppies that came from one pair I bought at the Coop.
7 billion guppies? ...I totally believe that number! It's scary sometimes how well they multiply. :)

If you're planning on housing guppies, you don't need to do a thing. Guppies like hard water.

Hardscape looks fantastic!!! Sounds like it took a lot of effort, but I'm sure when it is all set up you'll feel so rewarded.

I got them at a local swap meet where I live. I’m in Arizona so the stuff is everywhere and these were super cheap!
That's so awesome! I really like the look of cholla wood, but never seen such amazing pieces as the ones in your tank.

I'm not a 100% sure, but I think I heard Cory say in a video that he sometimes soaks his puffers' frozen foods with vitachem. Although I'm not completely sold on the benefits of vitachem I don't think it would be harmful if that's what you are worried about.

You did a great job making a brine shrimp station! Added bonus is that someone who doesn't keep fish would think it's out of Dr. Frankenstein's lab. :)

Nice work on the DIY top for the tank! I've never worked with egg crate before, but I like the look of it as a cover. I'll definitely try that on a future tank, especially seeing that it comes in black. I've only ever seen it in white.
