  1. In my zone,i don't have that substrate, the one i mentioned before are the ones that are available here. When i said stratum i was referring to the bio-stratum, do you guys think for Ludwigia repens, Montecarlo would go well in this one?
  2. Hey guys i don't know if this is in the right topic but anyone have tried fluval bio stratum, neo soil , tropica soil. Which is the best? I jus have some red root floaters, probably will have Montecarlo, Ludwigia repens, elodeas, foxtail, java moss, and probably will get some more i don't knoe which ones yet. I won't have Co2. I did like the bio stratum because of some reviews saying that it doesn't leech that much of nutrients, but what do you guys think would be more apropriate for me?
  3. Yes sure , i've been readung about DSM and i found out that it cycles the tank aswell is it true ?
  4. Good to know! But Im a student and im away from my tank and i don't really want it to grow fast because that means i would need someone to trim it, but im doing some big changes on my tank , i will have to cycle it again and do it from the beggining so i don't know DSM or Full tank will be the best because i have to do all this during the summer . I just want to stable it and let it grow.So which one do you think would be best for my situation?😅
  5. Hey guys, i have 40cm cube and i do like the a carpet of Montecarlo or anything similar to that if you have any sugestions. I dont have Co2 but i have aquasoil and some good lightning, i saw some people saying Monte carlo grow very slowly on a no Co2 tank but it grows.Do you think DSM would be a good option for me ? I will have some hardscape aswell which will take some space , but i still think it's a big area for Montecarlo to grow any of you know how many months would it take with DSM or without it?
  6. Hmmm , thank you probably im going for the cheapest of these 3 😂
  7. What i read is that the fluval doesn't freeing to the water collunm it does but a lot less the the tropica or neo. So they say that the tropica or Neo is good for a Co2 tank and the fluval for a low tech because the plants wont be able to catch all those nutrients without CO2
  8. Have you had problems with algae with that substrate?
  9. I do have some lava rock and i can put it in the bottom, i want that dark color in the substrate because i have some red cherrys i think it will look good so probably going with some lava rock in the bottom and getting the 8kg bag of the fluval, which aquasoil did you use?
  10. But the price are basically the same, so i will be using just the stratum, because i don't have co2 aswell and i saw some reviews ,and they said for low tech This fluval stratum was a good one so probably going for it ,the ones available here is just neo soil, tropia aquarium soil, and this fluval! Thank you so much!!!
  11. I have another doubt i was looking for the fluval stratum and now on amazon the 4kg bag it's on sale do you think 4kg would be enough to a 40 cm cube ? I want nearly 5cm of soil height.
  12. Understood, will do it then. My question was if i cold use it instead of the aquasoil but it will be better to use it with the aquasoil. Thank for you help!
  13. Hi guys ,i have a planted tank and i wanted to get the neo soil for the substrate but the store that i was buying it from ran out of stock so i was wondering about getting the Jbl Proscape Volcano mineral, it says that has some nutrients and it's good for the roots. Have someone tried it? I have some Elodeas, Ludwigia repens, red root floaters, fox tail, java moss, anubias and probably will get some more On the tank at the moment i only have 1 ancistrus and some red cherrys.
