  1. My favorite fish I have currently is probably my electric blue acara.

    20240305_195017(1).jpg.68a3bd920b3c465d957752bbef2ccba6.jpg

My most wanted fish is an electric blue jack dempsey or a green terror.

Top 10 fish I have in no particular order.

    1. Electric blue acara

    2. Turquoise rainbowfish

I have since cut it into several other pieces. All anubias in all my tanks come from one that I had 12 years ago and I just plant them, bathe them in bleach sometimes, cut them and they do that. It was sold as a nana variant, though I do not really believe that, some leaves are large as a hand..

That's rad. I'm glad it didn't catch anubias rot.

  3. You could try an apisto borelli as a centerpiece fish. Apistos like soft water and borelli are one of the more adaptable species when it comes to ph and temperature. I have a pair in my 10g with shrimp and nano fish.

Love the bird photos! I think birds are my favorite type of non-aquatic animal to observe and photograph. Especially uncommon ducks and geese.

  5. For decor I like dragonstone and driftwood the most. For hiding places I like ceramic cichlid/pleco caves and then attaching plants to them like java moss, anubias or bucephalandra. Sometimes I like to make my own caves using rocks. Honestly I love covering all types of decor with plants.

    image.jpeg.6755a082a2c87155a604fa132fcace98.jpeg

At this point it was just the betta and white clouds. It was looking pretty sparse, so I got these panda apistos

    "Roxi" the panda apisto

    image.jpeg.06c09f5d10bbebf2c02ab57415d8fd47.jpeg

Unfortunately Roxi claimed the entire tank as her territory and terrorized the other fish, so I swapped them with my golden dwarf cichlid.

  8. I agree with others that marine salt should be used rather than aquarium salt.

For plants I've had success with tiger lotus, hygrophila siamensis 53b, narrow leaf ludwigia and swords. Bolbitas fern also seems to do okay (at worst it dies very slowly) . I'm still experimenting with micro sword

Buce, anubias and crypts I have tried and they did not work for me.

Given you have many of my "wish list fish" would you be able to recommend to me, what in your opinion is a better fish? Especially for a standalone smaller tank (for future, I do not have one now 🙂 ) would it be the bumblebee gobies alone? the sparkling gourami? the gudgeons? Thank you

    I would choose peacock gudgeon.

I've been trying out something potentially untested with peacock gudgeons in my low end brackish tank. The thought being that many fish in the eleotridae have brackish tolerance and spend parts of their lives in brackish water. Also the family is thought to have evolved from marine fish. So far, so good. They have been doing quite well and are very fun to watch.

My two male apisto borelli that were in my 40g were lip locking, so I thought it best to separate them. I decided to put one in my 10g. Also, I was getting tired of breeding guppies, so I decided to take my female adult guppies to my LFS and moved the males to other tanks. Now the tank has a pair of apisto borelli and some sparkling gourami.

  13. My brackish paludarium is looking the best it's ever has! The only issue is that the buce and anubias died off. I may try one more time with them or just switch to bolbitas fern which seems to do better in low end brackish. Moss are another option. I'm open to suggestions for what would look good on the wood and rocks.20231206_162837.jpg.04ae11dfb0b1e687f9a294aa6c83748b.jpg

This one is missing their big claw, but seems to being doing well otherwise. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I later saw my flagfish biting at one of the other fiddler crabs big claws so I think they are the culprit and I moved them to my 75g. The claw should grow back on their next molt.
