  1. Thanks that is good to know. I have been wanting to keep endlers for awhile now.
  2. Thanks for the responses. I was leaning towards separating them from the betta. I will probably put them in another tank.
  3. The only rough thing in the tank is a prefilter sponge. I also saw a neon nip at him. The neons also constantly charge each other too.
  4. Hi all. I currently have 6 neon tetras living with my betta in a 10 gallon tank. I just noticed that my betta's fins have been torn up a bit. My question is should I add to the school to hopefully curb the fin nipping behavior or just move them to another tank? Thanks
  5. Thanks. Will amano shrimp eat the plants?
  6. Thanks for the input. I wasn't sure if those 2 snails would be enough. I just wanted to make sure. The tank used to be at my parents house and it got a lot of algae. Because I was not always there to keep up the maintenance.
  7. I rescaped a 10 gallon tank recently and I am needing some stocking ideas for cleaning crew. It currently houses 5 neon tetras, 1 mystery snail,1 nerite snail and a betta.
  8. Ok thanks. That is definitely a relief.
  9. I recently redecorated my 20 gallon long tank because of an algae issue. After replanting plants I used 2 pumps of Easy Green and 2 pumps of Easy Iron. I looked up if Easy Green was safe for african dwarf frogs but not the iron. Did I just poison my frog with the iron?
  10. Thanks for the clarification.
  11. I just bought a bottle of fritz complete and the directions say add 2 drops per gallon. Is that per gallon of the whole tank or per gallon of the replacement water?
  12. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I had a nerite and pest snails in there before I got the frogs. I am not sure but it looked like the frogs killed all the pest snails off. Then my nerite past away and that is when the algae took over. I was thinking about getting another nerite and ottos.
  13. Hey all, I have a 20 gallon long with 8 porkchop rasboras, a male betta and 2 dwarf frogs. It was doing good but now I have an algae out break. Most likely from not having any clean up crew from the excess food from trying to make sure the frogs get some food. I was wondering what clean up crew to try out after I clean up the algae in the tank and replant it. Thanks in advance everyone
  14. I used a section of a TV box spray painted dark green for my 75 gallon and my wife had black vinyl so I used that on my 10 gallon.
  15. I also switched to strips because the liquid kit kept giving me crazy readings. Especially with my ph and Ammonia. I started to think the liquid kit I bought was defective. I brought my water into the co-op and it tested way different than the API liquid kit.
  16. I have cardinals and they seem shy too. I did notice though that when my light is dimmer they come out way more. I have a hygger light that emulates a sun rise then a sunset.
  17. I have a group of 11 in my 75 gallon and they leave all the other fish alone. They do get rambunctious during feeding time and the males tend to be territorial towards their own in certain densely planted areas. Also they seem to breed easily i have had found 3 fry without actually trying to breed them.
  18. Thanks for the replies. I am not set in stone on sparkling gouramis. I just thought I needed a different pop of color since the shrimp and rasboras are both red.
  19. Thanks for the response. About how many would be appropriate for the size of the tank?
  20. Hi all, I wanted to know if I could add sparkling gourami to my planted 10 gallon tank? It is currently stocked with 11 chili rasbora and 10 cherry shrimp. Would adding sparkling gourami be too much bioload? The filter is a quiet flow 10.
  21. I know its strange. I got it at a local fish store. I have only had it for about a week
