Looking for opinions on best way to fix my 300 gal acrylic stand issue before I order a 24.5 x 96.5 x 1/2 inch sheet of acrylic. Issue is the 3 piece support acrylic that the acrylic aquarium sits on is bowed in the center the complete width (96") of the stand. Any thoughts on using plywood vs throwing another full length piece of acrylic right on top of the bowed pieces of acrylic would be greatly appreciated. PXL_20240811_175821841.jpg.d1c555889aab7dbf8e3a3b7d1e5047eb.jpgPXL_20240811_175730841.jpg.a49b9d798f08a7e7d2704995bcc478f3.jpgPXL_20240811_180052012.jpg.77dc51088f7119a3843e1e9c9cf2dcaf.jpgPXL_20240811_180035290.jpg.c604c7eaa0ce0686217af837b4770750.jpg

The bow is from front to back? Or from one end to the other end? If the side supports are straight and the bow is front to back, not sure I'd worry about it. The sides and ends are going to carry the weight. And depending on how old it is, I might contact the manufacturer. Just to be safe

Thanks for the quick reply. The bow is front to back all three panels. This is my first acrylic tank and acrylic stand for that matter. I thought that acrylic tanks had to be supported every square inch versus a framed glass tank just around the perimeter of the base. Honestly I'm surprised there are no acrylic studs from front to back but this stand was definitely built for this tank.

You may be right. That's one of the reasons I'd check with the manufacturer, Or the dealer. Honestly have no experience with something that large. But, yeah, if it has to be supported every square inch, where are the center supports at. acrylic is going to naturally bow where it's not supported.

Thanks,

Unfortunately I'm the third owner. I may just put down 6ply birch plywood and keep an eye on it. Glad you mentioned acrylic bowing w/o support, plywood is way cheaper than a custom 24.5 x 96.5 new piece of acrylic.

Yeah, but if you can tell who made it, I'm sure they have a customer or product help line. After all, it's their name on it. You could even add some of the thick insulation board on top of the plywood. Was reading some of the makers recommend that. Some don't, however.

But, anyway, Being third on something like that's just a great find!
