JoshWash1026
I’m not new to hobby just wondering what ideas you all have. It’s always fun to try new things in the hobby.
MarcT
Cheers, One of my new projects I have been working with are 6 Gymnogeophagus balzanii juvinals agout 2" to 3". They do best with seasonal water temperatures . That being said, they spend 3 months in a 55 gallon equipped with a chiller and a steady temp of 68 degrees. In the spring I move them to a 75 gallon for a more tropical temp. When adult they get a nice round hump on their head. This is also a rather large Gymno that can max out at the 7" range. I should also add this fish prefers soft water. Just something different.
Schuyler
You could do a Cameroon River biotope. You could do a bunch of crinum, with some anubias or bulbitus on rocks, use a canister filter to create a slow river like flow, and then do some African bush fish with a butterfly fish or pelvicachromus pulcher and some killifish. Check out the Cameroon biotope in my links. Here are some highlights. Tony s
On 8/13/2024 at 8:24 PM, JoshWash1026 said: just wondering what ideas you all have Depends on what type of water you have. For softer water. Fully planted with Semi aggressive fish. Fire mouth, or convicts or blue acaras. If hard water, either of two choices. A small, mixed mbuna tank. Or lake Tanganyika. with shell dwellers, julidochromis (one of the smaller types) and one ink finned calvus. Possibly a few leleupi for color. have been thinking about doing all of those (well, one of those anyway).
