Scaperoot
I recently discovered, thanks to someone on the forum, that my tap water has ammonia. I recently lost some fish after dosing Hydrogen Peroxide and not doing a water change afterwards. I'm wondering if Fritz complete is a better product than Seachem Prime as a dechlorinator and ammonia remover. Does Prime remove ammonia? An online review of Fritz complete said that it's like throwing the kitchen sink at the problem. Any drawbacks?
mynameisnobody
I use Fritz complete because it’s cheaper. I’ve never had an issue and anyone using prime isn’t getting any additional benefit that I’ve discovered. Brand loyalty is why you see so many water conditioners. Pick the 1 you like and don’t overthink it.
Whitecloud09
Prime does not remove ammonia at all. Just detoxifys it. So your choice, prime or fritz. A matter of want you want to spend money on, prime being more expensive, (I personally use prime.) or fritz complete, which is similar. But keep in mind, prime detoxifys the ammonia for a short period of time, so you can resolve the issue with the ammonia.
face
There’s basically the same product but Fritz has aloe in it Neither remove ammonia at best they turn it into something less harmful for a short time if they even do that imo you won’t see a difference between water conditioners just use whatever you have
