Which charcoal to use?

I know there’s different sizes of charcoal for aquariums, I am currently using the granulated ones which are the smallest to use. I have put them in for a couple of days and I see some clearance; I am wondering if bigger charcoal and MORE charcoal will clear up faster and clear more up in my 29 gallon. 

this is my set up, I have one bag in the filter, 2 of them outside of the filter because I cannot fit all of them.

I’d be putting them all in the filter (I know you said they won’t all fit), or saving those bags you have clipped to the tank. There’s probably a little bit of water movement through and around them, but I imagine they’d be much more effective actually in the filter. 

If you’re wanting to use all the charcoal, take the media out of the filter and drop it in the tank, and then load the filter with charcoal. There should be no disruption to your Beneficial Bacteria if you do that.

@AllFishNoBrakesshould I cut open the bags and pour the charcoal in the filter or should I keep them in the bag and just put as many bags can fit in the filter.

I would be keeping them in the bags.

Probably keep them in the bags. Less mess and easier to remove when you’re ready.
