@Louise02 you can’t remove it. I believe if it is rotting it is because it has used up all its nutrients and now it’s dying. Do you use root tabs?

Thank you.  Yes, we use the tabs from Aquarium Coop.  Should I remove it?

I believe it can live without the bulb, but you have to be rigorous about your root tab schedule.

Yes!

I removed my lily from the bulb. As long as it has settled, it is okay. Mine continues to grow and stays healthy.

Also I put the bulb to another place and it gave me two more lilys, even tho it has a white hole on it that seems like a rot. Idk. At least its not mushy.

I personally have not faced any issues

You can remove the plant or bulb. I usually remove it when I see roots on the plant. Also, if you already have root tabs then it’s fine but they don’t really need it. They column feed more than root feed but would also appreciate the extra nutrients.

I planted my tiger lotus on sand without any root tabs and when the leaves were only as big as a neon tetra.

this was after a couple of weeks

this was taken last week

No root tabs on this one. I just fertilize the water.
