Hello-

I live down south, but my daughter and son in law moved to Chicago. They're wanting to not risk the frigid winters shipping in and are wondering if anyone knows of good fish breeders, pages for breeders locally or respectable fish stores they could visit for nano fish amongst others.

Thanks!!

I'm not in Chicago, but follow a lot of local fish clubs on social media. I know that the Greater Chicago Cichlid Association has swap meets regularly, and from what I've seen it's all species. There is also the Chicago Livebearer Society, and they have meetings and other events as well.

I've talked to some people locally who travel down to GCCA's events, and I would bet that's a great way to really get to know the local landscape. Their auctions and swap meets seem like a great way to pick up fish too, but I'm a secondhand source when it comes to that. I've seen some fish that reportedly came from such events, but haven't been there myself.
