CJs Aquatics
Hey all, question for someone better at math then I, if a standard 10 gallon tanks dimensions are 20x10x12, and the coop sells moss mats that are 2.75x2.75 how many would I have to purchase to carpet the 10 gallon? AllFishNoBrakes
I got my Java Moss from a big box store, in a tiny open air bag, and was lucky it took off. My 10 gallon tank becomes a jungle and then I trim it all out and sell it off. Java absolutely crushed in my shrimp only tank, too. Other tanks it just does a whole lot of nothing… The first pic is the last time we cleared out the 10 gallon jungle and the second is the shrimp only tank that started with just a couple strands.

AllFishNoBrakes
I wish I had the magic answer, but I don’t. I can tell you what the 2 tanks of mine that it did well were like, though. -10 gallon aquaponics tank. Where it all started. Stock, terrible lights, and a 12” submersible light. Dosed with Easy Green once per week. Still slow growing, as it’s a moss, but crushes in this tank. -20 long shrimp tank. Aquaneat light. Easy Green once a week. Started with a couple strands and over a year and half filled up 3/4 of the tank.
mynameisnobody
All mosses tend to do better with any algae issues if they have a bit of flow.
