Nik_n
I plan on breeding my group of fork-tail rainbows using a spawning mop. I went to multiple different stores, looking for 100% acrylic yarn, and I finally found a store selling some. However, they did not seem to have the traditional dark green colour. Instead they had some kind of a blueish green (see picture below). Does anyone have any experience with different coloured spawning mops?
cavdad45
I'm sure that would be fine. Anything closer to earth tones, maybe? Dark brown or black
Nik_n
There is completely black yarn as well. Would that work better?
Cinnebuns
I think that color would work. It's not too different from the color my fork tails have been spawning in for a few months. With my cories I have tried white and have noticed they tend to lay more in the green mop than the white one. Its obviously not the same species but it is something I noticed. Basically tho I think that color should work for your forktails. Also, have fun looking for those eggs. They are very tiny and very see through. It's easy to miss them!
