CornAndCrawlers
My cherry shrimp was carrying eggs this morning but seemed to have dropped em. I’ve heard they won’t hatch when dropped and was thinking about putting em in a bubbling brine shrimp hatching device with clean water.
AnimalNerd98
It’s worth a shot! I have heard about people who hatched them using just a net and a bubbler underneath. I would discard any fuzzy or white ones. If you want to be extra safe, a drop of methylene blue in the container to deter fungus growth. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
anitstuk
I definitely think that it is worth it to try but make sure that no fungus starts to form
Minanora
You can hatch them. I've tried several methods. You need water movement to succeed. The last time I hatched eggs I had them in a fine net resting on the lip of a taco bell cup full of tank water with an air stone going under them to tumble them. I turned the flow down to about 50%. You will have a more successful hatch if the eggs are more developed, and less success if they are younger. Here was another attempt, I got 4 to hatch on this try. CornAndCrawlers
@Minanora, out of curiosity, approximately how long did it take your shrimp to hatch ? Also thank you for sharing your success, this gives me hope to try it.
Minanora
It was around 26 days for mine that I couldn't see eyes yet. The brood that had eyes visible it was about 10 days from when mom died and I removed them from her swimmerets.
