Twood
I have a 40 Breeder that is heavily planted, with livebearers. Guppies and Platys, with a few bristlenose. The tank seems to be thriving, the fish are reproducing like crazy, the plants are booming. But occasionally I will lose a fish, and I find this red stringy stuff in my Java moss. Any idea what this is?
Hannah Parker
Hmm, interesting. A picture would help a lot. I know when I lose a fish in my community tank, usually just the skeleton/spine will be left because everyone eats the rest of the body. Are these bone remnants of the fish you lost maybe? Burrowing into java moss seems like something a fish might do when it's about to pass.
