Krista
I’ve had mystery snails in most of my tanks, for roughly 3 months now. I have one mystery snail( one of three) in one tank, that is literally NEVER in the water. It is definitely alive, but again, NEVER goes underwater. The other two snails are down constantly and are kicking. What’s up with the line behavior? How is it maintaining itself?
Cinnebuns
They have lungs and gills both and do have to surface for air at times. They can survive out of water as long as their foot is kept moist which I'm assuming it is. That said, it is not common behavior to stay out constantly. Usually this can be an indicator of water quality issues. You might want to check parameters just in case but my guess is they are fine or all 3 would be doing it. It still never hurts to check. Edit to add: I just reread your post and realized the snails are all in different tanks. That leads me to suspect something in the water even more. Def start by checking parameters.
