Babyaquarist
Hi there! I’m looking for treatment advice for my male sunset platy. a long time ago, he developed a dark path on his back. It appeared quite suddenly, but he didn’t seem to be in any discomfort, and I couldn’t find any matches on the interweb so I left it be. quite recently, this patch developed a raised gray lump and has done nothing but get bigger. I’ve tried the pimafix fungal treatment, and that didn’t do a thing. I’m trying the bacterial remedy now, but don’t expect much. I’ve read that they’re susceptible to cancer, which is my biggest suspect now. for now, he is as he always has been. What should I do? he lives in a 10 gal with a merit snail, 5 Cory catfish and up until this past week, a female platy (found her dead after coming home from vacation, no clue what happened). Right now he’s in an iso tank. I do 50% water changes fairly frequently, and use bottled spring water to fill the tank. I don’t use any water treatment things, a bit of a naturalist, and have never had problems in that area except algae. is there any viable treatment for him? I don’t want to consider euthanasia until he demonstrates that he’s ready to go, but I don’t want him to suffer. I’d appreciate any advice you have for me and my Tequila man 😕
quikv6
I'd try Maracyn 2, or Kanaplex. Either (but not both), by means of food mixture.
