Looks female to me, but yeah, leave it overnight. When they're dead, trust me, you'll know.
How quickly did you introduce them to the tank? If the others are looking alright, this probably isn't a problem, but of course shrimp are super-sensitive to changes in water.
I did drip acclimation for over an hour the ppm was within 20

Might be trying to molt? New water conditions almost always induce a molt in these guys.
It doesn't look like it went well, he looks dead, I'm going to leave him overnight to give him a chance

I’m a bit worried about raccoons, but the vertical sides of my pond are a deterrent. I have some covers I made to keep away raptors, but I keep forgetting to use them.
Yeah my pond with the goldfish was a few years back total disaster. I dug it out about 100 G so it was inground, which I feel like was what made it easy for the racoons. Also my blind dog relentlessly kept falling into it, climbing over the small fence around it and rocks surrounding it. So two full days of digging to set up, 3 days of head and heart ache, and two hours to fill in.
This year its a 40 G plastic trough, planning on some water lily, stem plants and floating plants. I'll put some cinder blocks on the bottom to give the fish additional hiding places. The new neighbors Shepard mix had a recent altercation with the raccoon, and he is a big dog so hopefully no issues this year.

I have a 100 gal goldfish patio pond. It’s in a shady spot with almost no direct sun. I keep Sarasa comets, single tails and a Shubunkin. I use a DIY box filter attached to a copper pipe spout for a fountain effect. The fish leave the pond plants alone but demolish duck weed.
If you have a local Koi store pay them a visit and check out the different goldfish. Sarasa comets are my favorite, but our Shubunkin has the most personality.Really sweet setup, dig the maples and cat as well. I tried fancy goldfish in a pond setup but they ended up as expensive treats for the racoon living in my neighbors attic. This year I'm going with mountain minnows and a lot of cover.

I did the same with the Anubis, which you can see better in the first picture.

I took my Java fern out of the pot, and used gorilla glue gel to glue the base of the plant to a small stone. The plant is still alive, so I'm considering it a great success! As a bonus it makes it easy to move the plant if you desire.

Cory, thank you so much for the belly laughs and the example. I was going to explain AI, but this is so much better than my explanation, lol
Through all of this, the recurring theme in the back of my head was a total Floyd moment....
I have run into so much frustration since even some so-called peer-reviewed journals have even been permeated with "peer-review" that is questionable in their credentials for their "peers" who are supposedly doing the review.
I love having more access to information, I guess with the increased access to information we have even more responsibility to verify accuracy?
The most frustrating articles are best explained by Cory's example above: Starts out with accuracy.... and then once trust is established with verifiable information, the AI steps in and illustrates the faults in our logic frames for teaching AI... which is how the AI car ran into a schoolbus that was laying on it's side after being in an accident... because the AI didn't "recognize" the logic frame that explained "schoolbus"
(Apparently that particular article is now behind a paywall, from 2015. This one helps explain some of the issues with AI: https://www.thedrive.com/tech/17618/mercedes-will-teach-its-self-driving-cars-to-recognize-school-buses )
I read a study, a few years back where it was estimated over 40% of peer reviewed articles couldn’t be replicated. There was also 3 academics that went out and made up the most ridiculous articles they could think of, and got quite a few peer reviewed.
Most of the academics today have, and deserve, no credibility whatsoever.

It grows well in my tank, when it starts taking over, I just remove a bunch.

If hardwood flooring is too expensive, there are a lot of good cheap laminate alternatives. As a bonus laminate is an easy install

From what I know about Oscars 120 is pushing the minimum tanks size, you may want to keep your options open.

Add the Betta last. Had my Betta and neons in a 10 gallon for a year with no issues. When I upgraded to a 20G there were issues. Not certain the issues were caused by putting the betta in first, but it was a possibility.

I believe lights, substrate and fertilization are more important to plants than amount of water. That being said, Java fern, Anubis and Anacharis do well in my 20g

I like the hardscape, especially the Buddha. For my taste I would lean the second vertical wood piece from the right, perhaps against the wood on the far right. To my eye two vertical pieces look slightly out of place.
edit you could do some moss on the to wood pieces on the right to make them look like trees which could be cool as well

Like Jack said you can put your pump in a tote and drill holes for the electric and air lines

I saw tillandsia for sale at the large blue box store recently, and someone had put them in soil🙄I wouldn't be surprised to find out you got an orchid with a tillandsia in it from the same store.

I'm pretty sure that's what you have.
yeah it was stuffed in a clear glass jar with the orchid, which was half off because they snapped the spike. Joke is on them because all the roots were in great shape!

I know this is off on a tangent, but I'm trying to understand the floating root tabs, part of this story. I've used root tabs in the past without putting holes in them. never had a floating root tab. Is the tank bare bottom, is the layer of substrate very thin or did you maybe not bury them very deep? This is not me trying to be judgmental, just trying to understand.
He didn’t place his root tabs deep enough to start. So they floated out off the substrate

Panda Cory eggs?
in Fish Breeding
Posted
Noticed batch of eggs on my Java fern suspect they are from my panda corydora. 20 G other suspects are neon tetra, ottocynclis, Rams horn, mystery snails. Tank is 75•F any chance they hatch?
