  1. Looks like an injury to me. I would keep the water very clean and it could heal up itself. If you notice it getting worse then I would say order some of the med trio from aquariumcoop. The maracyn and ich x is what you would want. The maracyn is for bacterial infections and the ich x is for fungal infections. Might be a good idea to go ahead and get it just in case it gets worse

  2. I would definitely recommend against chemicals to fix it. Instead, I would recommend using more live plants. The algae is caused by an imbalance of nutrients and light. So I would say get some more easy live plants. Pothos growing out of the side is a good option too. It is however toxic to cats and dogs IF they eat it. Mine never have so I wouldn’t worry about it. Horn wort and duckweed are other very easy to grow plants.

  3. So I’m wondering if I can put a viewing window in this stock tank. It would be two very small ones on each side where it’s very flat. My question is will silicone bond glass to this? Or is there another way to go about doing it? I don’t think filling it with water would have an effect on flexing the plastic because it’s very rigid. Advice needed…

  4. I wouldn’t imagine dither fish would make to much of a difference in a 20 gallon. I would say something to try would be some black neon tetras (at least six cause they are a schooling fish) that might help. I think a bigger environment with dither fish is what they need. I am assuming they are pretty descent size because they are breeding.

  5. So I am wondering what paint is fish safe. Not spray paint, but I need paint that you can get in a can that you would apply with a brush. Not looking for a pond sealer either. I am finding so much conflicting info on the internet. I need it to paint on to this hardy board that goes around the top of my koi pond I’m building. It shouldn’t be submerged unless it rained so much and it overflowed. But rain will hit it and go into the pond. So I am just looking for a non toxic outdoor paint

I want to avoid inbreeding with guppies as much as posible, they are already pretty weak due to inbreeding. I wil put a heater in the vase aquarium i foud a really small one at my LFS. I'm also gonna buy a small sponge filter and put it in the community tank for 2 weeks would that be fine as a means of instantly cycling the tank?

Yeah your two weeks Is plenty of time. I really do recommend a heater as those guppies will probably get sick if they get too cool.

  7. It’s possible to pull it off, but why do you not want them in your community tank?

It would be much easier to get a 10 gallon tank with a small aquaclear and a small heater. Guppies nowadays need to be kept at least around 75° for them to not get sick. As far as instant cycle goes, use some gravel from your other tank and load it up with plants.
