  1. @Colu i’m at a loss. this has still not gotten any better. i haven’t used any medication i. the water for 3 weeks now. all that’s in the water column before today was aquarium salt. i’ve been monitoring the ammonia lvls and they’ve al been fine. i just put a 30 gallon canister filter in his tank in hopes that it keeps the water cleaner but his condition has gotten worse. his temperament and appetite are still the same but the area affected has gotten bigger. i have maracyn 2 on hand and started the rounds today. idk what else to do and idk what you can recommend at this point.
  2. perfect thank you @Colu
  3. ok should i stop feeding him the kanaplex then? and still keep the salt in the tank? @Colu
  4. @Colu hey it’s me again. i’m giving you an update: so not much has changed, his temperament is the same, his water parameters have never changed…ammonia stays at 0, nitrites are 0 and bc i change the water every other day, the nitrates are at 0-5ppm. the tank has a blue hue to it bc of all the jungle fungus, most of the plants are ok (anubias mostly) the fern have completely molted and the banana plant is actually growing. this is a picture of his fungus i took yesterday. can’t tell if it’s getting any better, i’m trying to be patient since things can’t heal in a day which i understand. his back fins are actually almost perfect so that’s helped. i just did a 25% water change as well as replaced some of the salt content i took out w the water change. i went to my local fish store to buy some more panda cory for my species tank and picked up some maracyn 2, haven’t used it but have it just in case. from this moment on, what do you recommend?
  5. @Colu thank you!! i’m going to dose the kanaplex with his food. should i do that everyday or like how you recommended? i really appreciate how helpful you’ve been. i’m seriously way over my head!
  6. @Colu ok cool. do i have to use the tablets everyday? i didn’t see any directions online. and as for the aquarium salt i can just dose that one time right?
  7. @Colu i’ve decided to do the salt treatment instead of adding more chems in the water. when i comes to dosing, i’m going off of an article aquarium coop wrote abt aquarium salt. someone mentioned to use an antibiotic and mix it w his pellets. i also bought stress guard and polyguard but i want to wait until the very worst to use chem meds again. i don’t want to stress him out. so far he’s been acting like his usual self. still begging for food and picking fights w the floating mirror i sometimes use. when it comes to this approach, what do you think? even though i have two aquariums i still consider myself a novice and i’m totally out of my range w this. any more tips would be appreciated.
  8. he’s in a 10g fish tank and it’s cycled. for some reason my api test kit always gives me a .25 reading on ammonia for all my fish tanks when they have zero ammonia. there’s no nitrites and i don’t let this tank get to anything above a 10ppm of nitrates. i lowered the temp to 77-78 since i heard that anything above an 80 is what fungus bacteria like. i haven’t tested the ph yet but it’s usually 7.8. what i’ve done so far: 1. at first i cleaned his tank everyday and used some stress coat. lasted for a week. 2. started w para cleanse for a week and a half. no change. 3. 40-50% water change and did a full round of kannaplex. improvement in the small bit of fin rot on his tail. 4. did a 40-50% water change and did a full round of maracyn. no change. 5. did a 25-30% water change and did a second round of maracyn with 5ml of ich x for five days. today is the day i should perform a water change after the maracyn/ich x treatment. nothing has changed. his temperament has stayed the same. as well as his appetite. he’s not showing any weird behaviors or lethargy. what else can you guys recommend? i really don’t want to lose this guy. and i’m trying so hard. someone in another forum recommended polyguard which i ordered. and should arrive tomorrow. i don’t have an extra tank to use as a quarantine tank so he has to use his current tank.
