  1. @Coluthe only new life in this tank in the past year have been the new corys that were born here. Would you still expect to see viral disease crop up so long after the fact? If I think it's just cancer, I don't really want to use antibiotics on baby corys. It did come up very suddenly, though...

  2. Ammonia, Nitrite and chlorine: 0ppm

    Nitrate: 50ppm

GH and KH: off the charts for co-op test strips

    pH: 8.2

    Temp: 78.1 f

(Needs water change and will get one shortly, but all consistent parameters for over a year)

Tank mates: female mystery snail (actively laying eggs) and a solid handful of panda cory's (breeding, numbers are variable)

This isn't my aquarium, but I can manage it. Are these bumps a couple of eggs from the snail? Or did something else happen? The fish seems fine, moving decently, etc.

  3. Ok, I plan to add ferts when my lights come on, this tank is decently planted, but what are thoughts about the Gh, Kh and pH? I'm from the land of Twin Cities Guppies, and our water is rock hard, but I'm trying to figure out where my buffer and pH are going? Can all considerations be fixed with some crushed coral? (20g long, shrimp tank, plenty of algae, a handful of anacharis, freshly planted S. repens with root tabs, some Java fern, 1 oto)

  4. Yeah, I'm starting to think I just want change, but maybe growing out a handful of angels for a couple months and then selling them back to the store would be fun.

I have a 10g betta that I pulled from the hex tank because I noticed nipping. And several snails in the hex. I'm even considering just looking into prettier guppies, now.

  5. Hmm, i kind of like the idea of growing them out and moving on to something different. I've kept the guppies forever because I was just out of ideas for something else (and had a rough pregnancy followed by a baby). Maybe I need to check out my LFS on a slow day and talk to someone there about other ideas. Or maybe I need to bite the bullet and look into fancier guppies. I'm having one of those moods where I want change, but I don't have a concrete idea where I want to go.

  6. Thoughts on switching out a 25 hex from guppy colony to a single angel? I'd like to keep my 3 false julii, so would they be safe with an angel?

Edit: 24 inches tall, 10 inch sides, roughly 20 inches corner to corner

  7. Thanks! I was in the Facebook group forever ago, and things have been going smooth with the tanks and busy with life, so I've been waiting a while to get involved here. (And yeah, this tank is a complete algae farm. I've been letting it grow when hopes for a shrimp colony for a couple years!)
