That female is very pretty. Also, I love the tail pattern on the male, which I'm guessing is characteristic of tefe.
I have a domestic line of agassizii that will pop this trait out on a few individuals every spawn.
Yeah my tefe pearl blue male has the same type of pattern on his tail

Those Apisto are absolutely gorgeous!
My caucatoides boy paid and still pays no attention to the females until they have a plump egg belly. The girls of mine initiate the flirting at that time.
My suggestions would be give them time and feed a bit more food that includes spirulina and include live foods. Live BBS, grindal worms, white worms. Frozen mysis shrimp, BBS and others are also good.
Just a very tiny touch of fry food like sera micron and hikari first bites 1x a week. I find when fish know there is food for the young to graze often signal parents it’s a good time to breed (got that trick from National Geographic special on wild habitats of fish)Also give them a choice of caves so they can explore and chose their own. It’s part of the natural process for them to explore multiple locations in the wild to find the best spot.
Yeah the female is the one flirting and I just added another cave last week. Just no luck with these guys. I do have a pair of tefe pearl blues and they tired to spawn 3 times already they just can't get the hang of it yet

Fluval sells some for filtration. You can also use bags of active substrate in the tank. This is common for Caridina shrimp tanks.
What is your PH now? How far do you need to shift it? Adding some wood in the tank might be plenty. My pH is at a 6.6-6.8vi just need peat moss for breeding

What kind of peat moss to use for killifish?

Yeah, I think it's a "you're mileage may vary" kind of thing. I've had Cacatuoides that were great parents too, and I've also had them kill one another. I also have a pair of Agassizii that are great parents, don't eat the kids, and don't have domestic disputes.
Yeah probably, I've had a few different cacatuoides and no issues but I guess it was my luck lol

The female picks the male and if the female is larger the chance she will accept him as a mate is much lower. Also being harem breeders they will pick on each other when they are not breeding regardless so it is important to have them in a large enough aquarium with ample hard scape where they can hide from each other.
Of course if they are juvi they will not be breeding; hostilities will likely be lower but still you should have them in a large enough aquarium with proper scaping so they can hide from each other.
Thanks for the info. I have breeded cacatuoides before with none of those issues never had to separate them even with babies

I just got a pair of the tefe pearl blue and it seems the female is a little larger than the male and they are still juvenile. I do have problem with the female picking at the male alot and notice his tail was tearing a bit. I sperated them for now. Should I wait till they mature to attempt breeding?

So Im starting a fish rack and I have vinyl flooring what would help protect my flooring. Going to have 2 tens and a 20 long on the rack

Looks awesome.
There is two varieties that I know of, I can't really tell the scale.
Anubias nana petite "white"Anubias Pinto (has veins on the leaves)
The one you have looks like an anubias nana size (non-petite) version of the white.
The name I am seeing is Anubias nana white "marble"
Same as mentioned above 🙂Do you see a rhizome or does it look like a stem plant?

Be patient. Grow these out. You’ll make money selling them!
If you’d like, I can explain how I use a rack of 1-gal. jugs for this…
If you’ve never shipped fish, here’s a thread explaining how to do it…
My method is tedious, but has been 100% successful so far.
Mature pairs can go for $30 or more on AquaBid or GetGills. If you get 20x fry, $15 each, you’ll bag $300. Which isn’t a lot after you consider the long process of raising them. But it does recover you some expenses. They’re very easy to ship in cool weather — late fall, early spring.
Thanks so much for the info!!! And yeah I'd love to know how you setup your 1gal containers. I've herd people even breeding them in 1 gal jars

Found how small they really are lol shot with a macro setting on my phone and the substrate is fluval stratum for reference

Nice I wouldn't doubt it! The fry are pretty big. I breed cpds and they are the same size of the sunfish. And the cpd fry are super tiny. So I'm guessing these are at least 2-3 weeks old

Yeah. No larger. They'll put on some girth once they've eaten some black worms, white worms, or grindal worms. But they probably don't get much more length, head to tail, than what you've got there.
Found some fry already

For just about everything yeah. For shrimp I use a cup and a hang on box and add water for a little bit to better give them a slower acclimation.
Oh yeah definitely I drip acclimate my shrimp
