I can’t believe how fortunate am being able to witness another batch of baby snails and this time watching them immerse from the clutch. A video is too big to post so here is a snapshot. I have so many snails now. I have transferred some to four other tanks of mine and one to my wife’s tank at her work.

After trying so many different types of hatching methods, I finally got a mass of viable snail babies. These babies are from my main 75 gallon community tank. I used a plastic container but instead of doing the method of changing wet paper towels each day I just placed the snail clutch in a dry container with no lid inside the tank. This allowed for humidity while still in the water. Wasn’t sure if this would work but here’s the proof.

I pretty much just left things alone. I have clutches in three tanks. Two Fluval Flex 9 gallons and 75 gallon community tank where all the mystery snails are housed. I had taken them out of the 9 gallons but left the clutches. Some of the clutches fell into the water but they were on the glass above water for many weeks. The snails have been laying more clutches pretty regularly in the community tank but I haven’t seen mystery snail babies in this tank. I actually found the mystery snail babies in the shrimp tank.

It’s been a while since I posted anything new about my mystery snail breeding or lack there of. But I do believe I have finally see mystery snail babies. There are a lot of bladder snails in this tank but these other snails look like the swirl is on the side unlike the bladder snails swirl is straight back.

Thank you very much for this information. I may just end up putting another betta in this tank.

also they are best keep with at least 3 or more, depends on size of tank.
Oh, I had set up a 9 gallon Fluval Flex. I was planning on having just one. It was actually a Betta fish tank but he passed after 6 months.

Just watch Aqua Huna. They’ll get them back in stock. In the mean time, do you have some live food cultures started?
I have bladder snails in all of my 4 tanks. For months I would remove them daily. They just keep coming. I had learned that I had been over feeding my tanks so I had since cut back But then discovered the intrigue of the Puffer fish.

Greetings everyone. I have been wanting to have a dedicated Pea Puffer Tank. Flip Aquatics and Aqua Huna have been out of stock for some time. Does anyone know where I can get a hold of one?

I have a Dwarf Gourami that’s been not doing so well so I placed it inside a Breeder tank hoping it will heal protected from the other fish nipping at it. So far it is still alive after two weeks. But the reason I’m posting this is because ALL of my mystery snails have found their way inside and have been there for a couple of days. Think I should pick them out or just leave them alone?

Opening and closing the lid dries them and often causes them to fall off. I had it happen
Thank you. I hadn’t thought of that.

I have this dwarf gourami that was behaving lethargic. It was just hovering around some plants when I noticed a male swordtail nipping on it’s body numerous times. I was concerned that the gourami May get killed so I placed it in a breeder box in hopes that it would get better over time. Is this a sign it’s dying?

I’m in the same situation. I have had nearly 10 clutches laid over the last 4 months. I have used different methods and yet to have any viable snail babies.

Congratulations!!! I am also expecting my first viable snail babies. I have had numerous clutches in breeding tank and also left alone provided they don’t fall into the water. I just found three more clutches today.

Wow, it’s been nearly two years since I started this post. Nice to seeing it’s still alive. The snails have grown up. Sadly though no new babies have survived. I get lots of clutches but have not seen any babies.
