Magnet idea is really intriguing.
The white logo is a deal breaker for me.

Indeed, water parameters are stable

Smells like dead fish.
No actual dead fish in any of my tanks, that I can find…

Thanks, I am likely over feeding.
I will adjust accordingly.

I have multiple well seasoned tanks.
They all have recently begun to smell terrible. The only change of note (as far as I can determine) is the addition of Coop Freeze Dried Tubifex Cubes to the mix.Could this food be the culprit in the new odor (never feed Tubifex before)?
my fish and shrimp devour them!

I have both.
planted+ is far brighter and I also prefer the design.
I don’t really like the clip light, bulky attachment point and not much output. Limited placement options in my opinion, given the angle of the goose neck. That is, if you like to have your lid sealed tight.

I am hacking pieces out of my glass top's plastic rear trim somewhat regularly, as I continue to develop my maintenance practices for my aquarium. Over the past year, I've added this and subtracted that until the rear trim has more oddly-shaped unused holes than plastic remaining. I want to replace this piece for a new one and start over with it. Does anyone know where I can obtain replacement material for this, or have a suggestion for something that works better with the frequently-changing needs of the aquarist?
I use polycarbonate panels.
I had the same issue, cutting the original plastic pieces up too much.

So, I see filter/air stone from CO-OP, so how much in saving.
None.
I just wanted something smaller and not green.

Nice, where did the base come from?
Amazon.
it’s the Aquaneat corner sponge.

Cool project. How hard was it to get that sponge over the plastic?
Not hard at all.
snip the bottom portion of the sponge off (for proper length and to expose the hole) and then a little stretch and it slides right on like it belongs.

Looks good! I have been really wanting to setup a tank with the same stocking, Discus and Rummynose tetra 😍 out of curiosity what temp are you running your tank at?
86-87 so far so good, really happy with the setup.

Yes, removed the container. I placed the planter empty, In the desired location, then planted the Val in the substrate through the hole in the planter. Next I added a small layer of substrate into the hole.
