  1. I know I have heard it several times on Aquarium Coop's videos but can anyone give me a quick rundown on how to tell if the tanks are tempered or not. I just bought several Aqueon 40Breeders and 55 gallons from Petco that I need to drill but I want to make sure before I bust them to pieces. Thank you!

Exciting! I’m sure you’ll find good folks on the forum who you bounce ideas off of hope to learn from your posts on this build. One thing I find valuable is plumbing built in very near or in the fishroom.

Whats been your go-to method for selling fish online?

    Yes I am hoping so!

ebay has been the place where I have had the most success. I sell consistently there and have been profiting well each month. I also sell on getgills.

  3. I got back into the hobby last year during quarantine and I am sure you all know how it starts...one tank...two tanks...twenty-five tanks. Over the last year I have been using my crawl space under the house with a basic setup (i.e. the cinderblock and 2x4 method) but in the next month or so, we will be moving into a home that we bought and I wanted to share my plans to build and expand the fish room. I will dedicate 325 sq. ft. to the new room and I hope to be adding multiple racks, auto-water change system, heating the entire room, etc.

I have had a lot of success selling on line over the past year and have learned a lot, but I still desire to learn more. I would also love to share this in order to see any input or suggestions you guys may have. The rough dimensions are 29'x11'.

Hi, I have been trying to breed my leopard angelfish for a couple months now, It took me some time to get a flat slate and then of course their tank broke ( I live by murphys law if you have seen my other posts) and I had to fit them in my 29 gallon planted tank community tank which they had no problem nipping half the inhabitants of and eating all of my amanos, but I digress. I now have them back in their tank and they keep producing wigglers, I keep missing the eggs for some reason, but everytime i move the wigglers into their ziss breeder box they die within a matter of days. I clean the bottom of the box with a turkey baster for any detritus that has built up but I'm wondering what else I am missing? I think at this point I have watched every video dean has made on angelfish breeding but I'm obviously not getting something.

I would try to watch like a hawk until you see the eggs and then put them in a container with tank water and methylene blue and an airstone. Keep the water the temperature of the tank.

  5. Second to Aquarium Coop I have really enjoyed Fishboy's videos, but he seems to have disappeared as of late. I know he was opening a store, so maybe that is it. Anyone else have any idea? I am relatively close so I was hoping to visit his store in Jersey.

What’s tough about this is that it was 2 orders, I had to figure out combined shipping and send a larger box. The buyer was asking all of these care questions and I was trying my best to teach as much as possible. Questions about buyers ph and food ect. And they all get their fine. 4 days later the buyer complains that about half have died and files a case. eBay wanted the buyer to send them back to me. I said that wouldn’t work because over half are dead now. And they took the money and gave it back to the buyer. So I literally spent 20$ shipping my shrimp to the buyer.

I sell on eBay and usually immediately you know the people who are going to be troublemakers. In that situation, I would make them ship them back to get a refund.

Also, make sure your descriptions are very clear and to the point. I.e. clearly lay out your DOA policy. For example, I say that after one hour of delivery if you have not messaged me, then I will not provide a refund. Protect yourself in those ways.

But keep on trying. I have sold over 250 orders in the last several months on eBay mostly live fish, and have only had 2 or 3 bad apples.

  7. I’m curious as what you would recommend to use as a website to sell fish online? And what I mean is a personal website that you are creating instead of selling on another platform. Something that doesn’t require a lot of development skills and the operating cost is low. Thanks!

  8. Hi all! I wanted to get some advice on breeding some white clouds. I bought 12 about 3 months ago and I put them in a ten gallon with tons of Java moss and spawning moss but I haven’t really seen any action.

Am I doing something wrong? Any advice? At what age do they start breeding?

    Hi!

So I am getting a bunch of different bristlenose plecos (albino and chocolate to start) and I don't want to spend $8 each cave right now in order to have enough caves. I need to many. I looked at some pleco cave racks and pleco cave dimensions. I have an idea but need someone's opinion. I want to get a 3 inch by 10 foot piece of pvc, because of the large opening, and then cut it into 20 - 6 inch long BN pleco caves. I know the back is open which is one reason I came on here, can I put the tube up again the back glass so it is closed? Also, on the bare bottom tanks I will sand the pvc to sit flat. If I can't put it up against the back wall I can use a 3 inch pvc socket cap instead.Would pvc be too rounded for plecos? I have seen ones spawn on wood and in logs similar to pvc.

    Thanks

The plant watering spikes on Amazon are the absolute best. My plecos will use this before anything else.

Do you have a place you will be selling? Like your own website, or a provided service whom takes a small percent of funds such as our fish collective or getgills?

Yeah I already sell on various platforms at the moment. I’m just wanting to expand the types of fish that I want to breed. I will be adding about 50 tanks very soon and expanding so just looking for great ideas!

I would suggest red koi or Philippine blue, they seem popular. Are you shipping or selling to lfs? If you are selling to your lfs see what the sell the most of or ask the public in our area. Blue marble bumblees and the dark ones with long fins are very pretty. But the red kois and philippine blues seem to sell in mass quantities.

I will be selling exclusively online! Thank you for your recommendation.
