  1. Thanks ❤️ Yeah we will need alot of tips and advice from you experts. First we will plan everything, where to put everything and get things in the right order and try to make some kind of a system. Then I will build a automatic water changing system for one of the racks to start with. Watching youtube alot on different setups and solutions. The water here in Sweden is in very good quality so its no problem to use as it is. Maybe someone has a link to a page that explains different water changing setups? With pictures and sketches
  2. Hi I will keep this thread as a mind map on our journey. We have finally got a place where we can have all our tanks and to put up more breeding racks. Until now, we have 1 larger rack up and running and 1 smaller rack with 6 smaller tanks. Also, some others tanks all around the apartment, and one larger 550 liters community tank. Soon (1 July), we will have access to our new place, and it will fit our needs to start with. We have like 70 tanks in total. Setup : 2 racks with 12 115 liters in each rack. 24 in total. 1 rack with a total of 24 tanks, 12 60 liters and 12 30 liters 1 rack with 6 45 liters and some other tanks. We haven't got to the place yet to measure out everything, but I think we will need some serious planning. Maybe some CAD program or something similar to make a sketch of the place. And plan all the plumbing beforehand. Air loop system, water changing system and so on. Most of the tanks have holes in them and are prepared for some type of water changing system. Is building a larger sump for each rack a good idea? We will probably have more questions later on when the project starts. Our Instagram fishybusiness2024 for more pictures, when we get our place it will be more pictures on the project and our building of a fish room. Our plan is to sell fish to different shops around where we live, and we have some good relations with several shops in our area, some of them are really professional and helpful. We will upload more pictures soon Best regards Alex & Sofia
  3. Im going to build a similar fry station like Deans. And just wondering about the spray paint. Can I use whatever paint ? Or are some specific requirements? Thinking of there is some paints that are poisonous to the fish ?
  4. @Unemployed Fish Nerd Thanks man! Yeah we won an auction and bought an old shop , so we got two racks with 24 tanks , 12 in each rack. And a hole bunch of other stuff, food, medicine, pumps, heaters, filter media and much much more. It was really cheap. We gave like 150 bucks for everything. We are setting this up in her living room and dont have room for both the racks. So now we have 12 tanks in the main rack. Yesterday we bought an another smaller rack with 6 smaller tanks. We think it would better to have the guppys in that rack. So total it is like 18 breeding tanks, those in the main rack we can devide into smaller tanks. And then we have like 10 other community tanks with different setups. We are breeding types of guppys, Sajica, Topaz, kribensis, different types of gourami, "smiling fish" , Apistogramma, different types of shrimps, corydoras and plecos. This weekend we will work with the new rack and put all the guppys there .. We have full time work so we are working with this all our free time .. all nights long and in the weekends 🙂
  5. Thanks to you all, yeah we find really good info here and with Coop's videos. Next project will be setting up a new rack and try to mimic deans baby fry station. 😄 we have frys everywhere! English is not my first language so my writing is not the best maybe .. but ill do my best.. no problem with reading and listen but writing is sometimes hard 🙂
  6. Hello, maybe time to introduce ourselves. we are a couple who live in southern Sweden. my name is Alex and my girl's name is Sofia ❤️ we are trying to build a business on breeding fish! My girl has previous experience with aquariums but I am quite new to this hobby but I love it. This was the most fun hobby I've ever tried. right now we are building our fishroom in her living room. not optimal but we are looking for premises to rent and may have a premises soon! our instagram is fishybusiness2024, please come with tips and advice. Any support is greatly appreciated! we dream of one day being able to do this full time ❤️ we love aquariumcoop and my new idol is Dean. he is an amazing man. great respect for his knowledge! Kind regards Alex & Sofia ❤️
  7. @jwcarlson yeah its alot more quite now but still to loud for a living room 🙂 a black backdrop would be nice i think and you can hide cables and such behind it.. we will se how far we take it 🙂 We got some fish babies to take care of at the moment 😄 Our Trichopodus leeri did make a bubble nest the other day and now there are baby fryes everywhere 😄
  8. @jwcarlson its harder then I thought to get the rack quite. We will put up a backdrop.. it should dampen some of the sound
  9. 🙂@jwcarlson thanks 🙂 yeah at first the metal valves looked more "exklusive" but Nope as you say, you cant fine tune them and with the plastic ones you just plug them in the pipe .. easy peasy.. both the yellow and the white ones were good ... Cheap stuff from china. Seems to do the job. Will probably remake the first pipe. Now when im thinking.. Hmm .. I want all the valves symetrical .. hehe maybe it is just over doing it 😁 Yeah I did as recommendations and did just one pipe wille probably just make an another pipe and take half the air from the air pump ? Should be fine right ?
  10. Air loop is up and running 🙂 some small adjustments and more Air flow valves are needed. I bought some steel valves but I think I like those in plastic more.
  11. My original plan was to put something like this in the lower right end of the loop and a pressure gauge. To let the excessive air out Is that any good idea ? Ps. That vent on the picture is not the one I got .. but a similar for "gas" And that one made of brass is a "air muffler" to keep the noise down when letting air out @JMCyeah thats why I joined this forum 🙂
  12. @jwcarlson 🙂 🙂 Yeah probably.. my concern was that the pump will build up to much pressure ?
  13. @jwcarlsonmaybe this is more complicated than i think?
  14. @jwcarlsonthe air pump will be above the water surface in a tall cabinet next to the rack. it's the pipes that I'm now thinking a bit about how high I should place them. tomorrow we will remove the rack from the wall a few centimeters to place the pvc pipes
  15. @jwcarlson 🙂 🙂yeah , I don't want to risk water going back to the pump, but if I decide to install it as I originally thought and install non-return valves. can water then get back to the pump? I have several check valves lying around.
