  1. unfortunately, she’s died☹️ thank you for everyone’s help
  2. I’m using aquarium salt so i’m going to add to the whole tank and do a water change in 2 days, replace lost salt & another change a couple days later.
  3. Thank you for everyone’s help. I have some aquarium salt on hand, now is when i start asking silly questions as i’m unsure on how to go about this. So, although the pleco is in quarantine, the water in the box is just filtering through from the tank so i’m right to just add the salt (and medication when i get it) into the whole tank? Then do a good water change in 5 days I’ve had my fish a while but never had to quarantine, so i apologise for the questions!
  4. i’ll make it a priority to order a test kit as soon as possible. Im keeping the lights off as the quarantine is too small to put any hideouts in there for her and definitely don’t want to stress her. I can turn the air pump up for some extra oxygen in the tank for a while. Food wise she has algae wafers, and the occasional cucumber.
  5. ah okay. my test strips don’t test for ammonia, that may be something I should consider buying.
  6. I’ve just rechecked, nitrate is high, 50 so i’ll be doing a water change nitrite & chlorine 0 water hardness 75 carbonate 80 pH 6.8 Temp 25.4
  7. wow do you really think it’s constipation? her stomach is huge and eyes are so bulged! that’s awful 😞 Yes i have her in a quarantine tank as i was worried for my other fish. Would constipation cause the red on her fins and body?
  8. they wouldn’t upload but sorted now! I have checked the water and all seems ok
  9. Can someone please help and advise on what is wrong with my pleco? It has red on its body and fins, really swollen belly & bulging eyes!
  10. I’m back yet again with more questions! Fish seem to be improving, they’re opening their fins again now i’ve treated them but i’ve noticed one of my cichlids has these big white spots on their fin. I can’t remember if he had it before so just wondering if this could be markings or is it an issue? or related to ich?
  11. Is anyone able to tell me what type of catfish he is? Finally been able to get a photo of him!
  12. I’ll keep my eye out for any damage on their fins. Since the salt is for helping get rid of ich, i’ll be doing a few water changes over the next week or so, so the salt will be reduced massively and hopefully they won’t get fin damage then.
  13. Thank you very much for everyone’s help 😊 so far he seems okay, very lively and swimming around so i can only hope he stays that way
  14. I’m going to leave any further water changes for now since I’ve put white spot treatment in the water and it’ll be pointless. I’ve just added a sponge filter into the tank to help get rid of excess food & fish poo so hopefully this will help bring the nitrate levels down. I’m going to let the treatment run its course and hopefully the fish will be okay now!
  15. my tank has been running for about around 4-5 weeks now Ammonia is fine, nitrate is saying high
