Yeah. I added six Endlers, and they killed 15 fish in my tank. They killed every guppy, and killed the blue Endlers as well.

Ok. So, I am doing things right then. These pics look like what mine looks like after 3 days.

Do I need to have a light on over it for at least 16 hours a day? It does not look like you’re using one. How do you attract the shrimp the the middle hole?

Ok. But, should there still be floating shells of the eggs after they hatch? Like, should there be stuff floating on top of the water after the bulk of the shrimp hatch? does the picture look normal?

I have been attempting to raise brine shrimp as food for my fish. Based on recommendations from a previous post, I purchased the following hatchery. Brine Shrimp Hatchery Dish (Eggs Sold Separately.) https://a.co/d/emGBOzA I bought eggs directly from Awuarium Co-Op, as well as salt. I use the little scoop from inside the package of eggs as the measurement of eggs that I wish to hatch. I follow the directions exactly for how much salt per liter of water. Temperature is 70-72 degrees (room temperature). I use an led light to attract the brine shrimp to the middle. I don’t know if the eggs are hatching correctly or that most of the eggs are not hatching. I am providing a picture of what the water looks like after 48 hours. It looks like there is red dust across the top of the water. I don’t know if those are still present after an egg hatches??? Am I doing something incorrectly? Any insight into having the most eggs hatch in this particular hatchery?

I guess I learned the hard way. Money spent to kill other investments in the tank. Went from blue to yellow. it is an all male tank. I don’t have a breeder tank, just the planted community tank.

Three weeks ago, I introduced some yellow endlers and fancy tiger guppies to my tank. I had blue endlers and “sunset” guppies in the tank already. Since I added the yellow endlers and tiger guppies, they have (I think) been quite aggressive. All of the blue endlers have been killed off, and 4 of 6 sunset guppies have been killed off. I didn’t introduce an illness to the tank. All of the rasboras, corys, shrimp, and tetras have not been negatively impacted. They are as healthy as ever. also, the yellow endlers and tiger guppies are all healthy. I didn’t think guppies/endlers would kill other guppies/endlers. I have never added some fish to a tank and had all of the new ones live while the fish already in the tank die off. Could it be the new endlers and guppies killed off the “old” guppies and endlers? [Of note, I have never had a die off like this before. In three weeks, 13 guppies and endlers have been killed or ended up dead. I acclimated the new fish to the tank via drip method.]

It’s an established tank. I’ve had it for multiple years. Just the first time with live feeding. I timed it, and all of the shrimp were gone in a matter of 3 minutes. The tank erupted. If I am feeding them shrimp, I assume I must supplement their diet with plant based stuff that is included in flakes?

I hatched some brine shrimp. The fish love them. How often should I feed the fish brine shrimp? I have premo flake food for the fish up top, and I use Bug Bites for the bottom feeders.

I have ten corys in my tank, and they treat plants like a buck marking it’s territory with their antlers. Up to a certain distance, the plants have no leaves. is this common?

Today, I went to feed my community tank, and the water was quite cloudy. I’ve had the tank for over four years, and never had that happen before. I was in a rush because I had to go to work, so I didn’t even have a chance to check the water’s nitrite and nitrate levels. I quickly drained about 40-50% of the water, and changed it out with fresh water treated with Prime. What would cause the water to become cloudy between yesterday at roughly 2pm when I last fed the fish and the tank was clear and today at about 1:30pm when the water was cloudy?

Why did you ask if it was as an existing community tank? Is that bad or good?

Yes. It is. Guppies, endlers, cory, Cardinal tetras, and rasboras.

I am adding some neocaridinia shrimp to my tank tomorrow. What should I feed them? is Baxter AE good? any other products good? thank you.

Where would I plant the Java moss? How do I secure it in the tank?

I have the following plants in my cart, ready to purchase. I don’t know if I am getting too much, or what will fit in the tank as it is set up. I don’t know what I would plant them. Front, back, in the low light, or in the full light? I don’t know if I should get some, but not others.

Gotcha. Well, I am going to do the best I can, which is to attach it to the drift wood in the lower light section of the tank so the rhizome is not buried in the sediment. So, I can let this plant float?

I have been asking lots of questions, and arranging my tank to be healthy. I’ve asked the forum about lighting, fertilization, low light and full light plants, and setting up plant zones. But, first, I am sharing pictures of how my tank is set up. It’s a 29 gallon tank. also, in my tank, I have guppies, endlers, corys, Japanese algae eaters, mystery snails, peacock gudgeons, tetras, rasboras, Pygmy cats, and bristlenose plecos. I have a zone set up for low light plants on the left side, and full light plants on the right side. I built a separation barrier using straws to keep the top water plants on one side. I am running a Fluval 3.0 light. of the plants in the article, which plants would you include in my tank, and where would you place them. Thank you!

I got these plants, but I don’t know what kind they are. I have them both in low light in my tank. I think they both may be ferns of some kind, but I’m unsure. should their roots be in the substrate, or glued to the stone or driftwood? full light or low light?

How often should the fish be fed the brine shrimp?

I think I may be feeding a little too much. also, the flake food drops into the water column a lot because the filter is on.

I have been feeding flake food to the tank for nearly 4 years now. The fish go nuts for it, but it always seems to dirty the tank. sometimes I do blood worms. Some of the fish are too small to eat the worms. I was thinking of brine shrimp to help keep the tank from having so much waste.

I’ve got guppies, endlers, corys, Pygmy cats, rasboras, and tetras. my tank is 29 gallons. Is one of the Ziss brine shrimp breeders overkill? I see the directions say to use two tablespoons of eggs. That seems like it would end up being too many shrimp for my tank. how long will the brine shrimp stay alive in the breeder? suggestions about brine shrimp?
