Thanks. I've been letting my water sprite grow on the surface for a while to get it somewhat established. I have a few pieces so I can test with one before putting all there. I don't have any Val though.

I want to put a plant right under my filter outlet but I'm not sure which would do best with the high flow. Right now I have some Limnophila Sessiliflora under the filter but it cant stand up to the flow. I have a few plants to choose from: Hygrophila Rosanervig, Ceratopteris Thalictroides/Water Sprite, and Rotala Rotundifolia. Which of those do you think would fare the best under high flow? Thanks for any input.

@Colu I've been feeding the metroplex for two weeks. Hes acting a bit less shy and is eating more aggressively but he still looks the same.

Starting to get frustrated. I got cherry shrimp because they are supposed to be so easy to take care of if your parameters are good. They are the staple for no filter, no maintenance planted tanks. I had heard of the green fungus before but I've read people have kept shrimp for decades and have never ran into it a single time. Of course, the very first time I ever get cherry shrimp, they have it. I put a lot of effort into trying to do the best of my ability, knowledge and budget, and still anything that can go wrong goes wrong. I haven't even got the fish for the tank yet and already the shrimp have issues. The shrimp were supposed to be a freebee. Just stick them in the tank while the fish are in QT and they'll be great... or so I thought. And no I'm not mistaking eggs for ellobiopsidae. It is for sure "green fungus"

There are at least three shrimp infected. I'm pretty sure there was only one shrimp with a visible infection before I started the treatment. It seems like it just showed up today or yesterday on the other ones. There are three amanos in the tank and the H2O2 seemed to stress them a lot more than the cherries. Would they be okay with 3ml per gallon H2O2? Should I just isolate all the cherries? Are they probably all infected already?

Originally I didn't know if it was just one shrimp or if there were more. I guess I never actually said it is for sure just one. Ill put him in QT and try the salt dips. Then more H2O2 if that doesn't work. Thank you.

I added the last dose of H2O2 today. I can still see the fungus on the one shrimp. It might be a little better but it hasn't changed much so I cant really tell. I don't really want to increase the dose of H2O2 so I'm going to isolate him and try salt dips. Seems like people have had success doing that.

It seems like a pretty good idea to me so its probably been done before but I think its pretty interesting and worth sharing. I had a couple tiny pieces of a tissue culture left over and instead of trying to plant them or let them float in the tank I put them back in the tissue culture cup with the growth liquid and wrapped it in cling wrap and put it on top of my aquarium under the light. That was about a week or two ago and it seems to be growing quite well so far. If it doesn't end up dying or something I will probably have another full tissue culture in a month or two. I will definitely be doing this every time I get TCs if it continues to grow well.

@Colu Okay I will turn the filter off. Why does it also say "dose 1.5ml per 4.5 liters"

@Colu I did the last does of Ich X today. I'm going to have to try the hydrogen peroxide. The "fungus" looks about the same. Maybe a tiny bit better but not much if any. For the hydrogen peroxide should I turn off my HOB filter? It just has sponges and bio media, no carbon or anything like that. Also I don't understand the dosing. It says "14.3ml/l H2O2/L". Is that just 14.3 milliliters H2O2 per liter of water? And is the H2O2 going to harm my plants?

Okay, thank you. Does black spot disease cause bloating or abscesses?

I just tested the ammonia. It showed 0ppm. I'm pretty sure I haven't had any ammonia in quite a while. Why else wouldn't those black areas have gone away?

I've tested a few times since I got it cycled and it hasn't shown any ammonia. I think I tested within the last week and it was 0. Ill test it again now. Okay, I will keep treating him with the salt and metroplex. I need to make a new batch of metroplex every week right? Should I stop using the kanaplex?

@Colu I finished the first course of kanaplex and I changed his water today. And I've been feeding the metroplex. He's being shy but other than that his behaviors seems normal. When I go look at him hes usually just hanging out near the surface not moving. I cant really tell if he's getting better or not. The black areas from the ammonia are still there which doesn't seem good. You said it can last up to 4 weeks but that was over 5 weeks ago and it seems the same. This is what he looks like today.

I got some Rotala Rotundifolia for the first time a couple days ago. Should I expect all the round leaves that were grown out of water to melt away? I know it grows very different leaves when its submerged but I'm not sure if the emerged growth would melt away or stick around.

I should have enough. I have an unopened 473ml bottle. What is the actual treatment procedure? How often do I dose for how many days?

I agree, nitrates seem likely at this point. Yes, more plants and water changes.

I do have ick X. They are in a 29G planted tank and the shrimp are the only livestock in the tank. Would you try and net them all out or would you treat the whole tank?

Looking at the pictures I would say its 60-80ppm. I don't think amanos can tolerate that high of nitrate levels. Do you know if your nitrates were that high in all the tanks you put them in?

I would do the 50/50 test and see what it says.

I got some cherry shrimp a few weeks ago and I've seen a few spots of the green fungus on at least one of the shrimp. I've seen photos and videos where the entire belly of the shrimp is covered but I've only seen 2-3 green/yellow specs on just one shrimp in my tank. Is there any chance it will go away on its own if my tank is healthy or is just going to get worse and spread to my other shrimp?
