Ahh! Well actually they are blue dream shrimp- or at least that is what was put into the tank at the beginning, they have been breeding and going feral so some are now black, dark blue, bright blue and some of the larger ones even get red markings.

That's not wood it's a large stone. I left the weed for a year, then scooped most of it out, I think having it grow is pulling some nutrients out of the tank. - you can see the full set up and progress if you look at the youtube clips on that channel
