Hey everyone, looks like things are declining for this fish unfortunately. I just ran aquarium salts a few days ago and added Ick-x late last night. Temp is currently set to 82F. What should I do? I really hate loosing fish 😔

Weeell…this might be my most embarrassing move yet. I went to check the filter and media and realized I never took off the plastic bags from any of the media. So, I imagine a lot of my issues could be simply from that alone. I’m going to try the blackout method this week. 🫠 🤯

Hey everyone, I’ve been having a lot of trouble getting my plants to grow since I start this tank 7 months ago. I’ve been fertilizing twice weekly, changing the water (30%) 1x a week and started using root tabs a month ago. Fluval grow light is on 7hrs daily. I’m also getting this funky moss on the gravel as well that rows back incredibly fast. Any help here would be amazing!

Hey everyone, Just an update here, I did loose the Gourami sadly but, I did invest in a variety of medications that used and will have for the future. I have a 2nd Gourami that I’m now a little paranoid might also have dropsy. How does everything think this fella looks?

Thanks so much everyone. I really appreciate it! It does feel pretty awful, especially since I lost a few neons already 2 months ago to Neon Tetra Disease I believe. I did a rush delivery of the meds and they should be in tomorrow. If it doesn’t work this time, I’ll at least have the medication on hand if something else happens I suppose. Thanks for the encouragement @oddduck I kind of need that right now tbh!

Thanks Zak! I ordered a tank separator that should be coming in today. I’ll give that a shot. Hardness and pH seem to be within normal ranges but, I did notice this morning that the poor fish is quite bloated now. My first thought is to add aquarium salts and a cycle of melafix. Any other ideas?

Hey everyone! I have a Dwarf Gourami in my tank that I’m a little concerned about. Lately, in the past few weeks, it’s been hiding in my swords and sitting at the bottom of the tank (sometimes a little lop-sided). It also appears not to be eating well either. There is another Dwarf Gourami that has has been a bit of a bully over the past 7 months since I setup the tank but, this is the first time I’ve noticed any major behavioral changes in the submissive fish. No signs of visible lesions and the water appears to be in good condition after doing a test strip this morning. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for the advice. It’s a shame that this is the state of things. For aquarium salt dosing, would that be 1 tablespoon per 2 gallons daily or, just one treatment to cover the week?

I just wanted to follow up here to say I sadly lost my finless friend 😞 I have quarantined two other neons that I posted about just now as well. Hoping I can get to the bottom of this ASAP!
