  1. Thank you @Guppysnail! That is so helpful. I will take out the algae wafer and give it some algae covered rocks from the tank during quarantine. I am so relieved that it is not a pond snail. Is there anything special I should look out for during quarantine?
  2. I have that substrate with sand just in the front. It is fun to watch them suck in the sand and fling it out their gills. My corys only uproot the plants in the sand. They leave the ones in the substrate alone. But they still scour they bottom of the entire tank just fine. I hope that helps.
  3. I hear you. I am always messing with my aquarium. I try to do it gradually though so I don't stress the fish or plants. I only have one tank, so I can't move them to redecorate.
  4. Can anyone tell me what kind of snail this is? My son just brought it home from the pet store. If not, can you point me to a good resource to investigate?
  5. New plants, new picture. The additional plants do seem to be helping.
  6. I totally agree. I am having a hard time keeping the parameters stable. I am only in a 10 x 10 space, so I have to keep it small. The chlorine, ph, etc. are fine, but I keep getting ammonia spikes. I watched Cory's video about dechlorinaters causing that, so I ordered some more plants and a different product. In the mean time, I am doing partial water changes every day.
  7. Cool. Thank you for the advice. I did buy a few more plants, but AC didn't have any floating plants. 🐟🐠🐌🙂 @Hannah Parker Do pet stores actually accept aquarium fish from customers? I thought they didn't take fish because of possible diseases.
  8. Thank you. A friend was moving and wanted me to take her fish. This little community is probably over stocked for a 5 gallon tank, but they have been living together for 2 years already so they do all get along. It has 2 cory, 2 white clouds, 3 cardinals and 3 nerite snails.
  9. Hi Everyone, I hope you are all fabulous. I am starting my first tank and I am excited to join this group to learn and receive feedback. Sheri
