I have a 100+ gallon aquarium with a few swords, giant hair grass, java ferns, 3 crypts and 1 Anubis. It seems overnight bba exploded in my tank. I already have 3 plecos but what other algae eaters, safe to use with ciclids, could I add to help combat the algae? I’ve been doing weekly water changes. Any other recommendations? NoCo tap water Posted 1 hour ago Share Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Check your feeding amount to control nutrients going in. Lower your light a bit. Easy carbon and flourish excel are (were) algicides, but won’t fix your main issues above. bba is difficult and I still don’t have 100% control over it. Consistency seems to be key.
