  1. Mini overhead sump/planter. outlets will be different.
  2. Water clarity flex crayfish need to be well fed to get them to stop eating plants before after Sag in my barb tank is propagating, about 30days after planting
  3. Update. Added a few more line of sight breaks. Aggression has leveled out pretty well. Check out my planted Malawi cichlid tank I use rocks to discourage digging in areas and hold down roots. Tried a “potted” plant too
  4. Barb tank is fully planted. morning vibes I had my internal filter outlet facing the wrong way since its last service. Some blue green algae formed due to this. UPDATE: My overhead sump plant light had failed. I don’t know how long it hasn’t been working but it’s impacted the plants and is likely a contributing factor to the bga, lots is extra nutrients. “Temporary” but likely permanent plant light now. Did some equipment shuffling, other misc - moved my small sicce canister from my 55 to my barb tank for mechanical filtration. - jimmy rigged a uv light to work with air in the barb tank - moved the tidal 35 from my angel tank to my 55 for uv and mechanical filtration. - angel tank still has its ugf and I’ll decide what/if I want to do a uv light in the angel tank later, see if it actually needs it. - Added a nano skimmer to the angel tank.
  5. Wanted to document a shrimp win, a rare occurrence for me. My shrimp came in with the water at 40degree. I didn’t put the bags in water right away, a 30 degree shift is a lot for that kind of quick heat transfer. I put the bag in my acclimation tub and left them alone for 2h. I then opened the bag and started a slow drip over 2h. Proud to say, not a single death in 48h and the girls are still holding their babies. Ill take the W, needed it after the testing from the guppy. Also, these last few guppy are indestructible. Rainbow tank filter feeders. We Ride!!
  6. Caribsea Super Naturals, midnight river. It goes in all my tanks now.
  7. Building a tank based on the fish you want to keep is something I learned early . That and keep the species count low, but fish count high and you will get much more out of the tank. Those are some words of wisdom regarding forcing the water, lots to learn still. Today I learned silver dollars are not tetra and autocorrect does fish names dirty.
  8. The guppy stopped being fun two weeks ago . For a hobby, if it’s not fun I’m changing it up. Not sure what I’m going to do in there anymore . I don’t want to tear it down, I’ll end up spending way too much money. working on ‘removing’ the remaining guppy with, heat and excessive flow, they are slightly easier to catch. Clove oil on the way. I just can’t catch them all. Ill stare at the empty tank for a while and decide. So far it’s toss up between mixed sa cichlid , native sailfin Molly (though I’m kinda over livebearer ), and silver dollar tetra with a centerpiece large cichlid Geophagus, blue Acari or a few rams,Not sure as of now. can’t believe I’m about to say this but I need a break from redoing tanks. I only have one that still looks mature now .
  9. I’m done with the guppy. The tank is not sick , the guppy are sick. Everyone else in that tank has never shown any symptoms of foul water, sickness or anything else . These guppy are like glass, and Im over picking 5 dead out every morning. Im removing the guppy for ‘disposal’. Going to grab a 10gal for the plecos and nuke that 55g. Turing something fowl into something nice I’m going to do another mostly native tank. This time a Stillwater fl biome-ish tank with native sailfin Molly, some Pygmy sunfish and some flagfish.
  10. Makes sense, thanks for doing what you do. I couldn’t moderate a forum and run a nationwide business without some rules too. Appreciate it.
  11. Ah, That makes a bunch more sense looking at it from that perspective . Thanks Cory. For what it’s worth, As a consumer, Id be happy and it wouldn’t stop me from making a purchase if you did make something from the sale referral. There is nothing wrong with making money.
  12. Update. I used the moss in my 10gal Observations: Floaties are the enemy, they collect and smother the moss. Excel/algaecide creates tons of floaties. Excel may indirectly kill moss by smothering it with dead algae floaties Training this stuff to attach to a surface with out glue is difficult. As long as there is some green in the moss it will bounce back. Out of the three, the mats and clumps grew the same as soon as the mats bounced back . But overall, the best growing moss is the volunteer moss in my rainbow tank that never had moss… Thank you for coming to my ted talk .
  13. Tony, can you not or recommed someone to not tell me in pm please? Hobbiest forum or revenue generator, or a bit of both. Another question for another day.
  14. I’m looking to buy about 50 fancy mutt guppy, assorted. Can anyone recommend a good source that’s decently priced ? Thank you
