Cinnebuns
I recently rescued a group of ember tetras. They are currently alone in a 15 long. Eventually I will be adding a few more fish but they have the tank all to themselves for now. I noticed some of the females are nice and plump with eggs. That got me thinking, how hard are they to breed? I figure if I breed them now is the time when they are alone. The tank is currently almost completely void of decor. It has natural gravel and that's it. I could add a spawning mop maybe? I do have some plants I plan on adding eventually anyway. Any tips would be great. Side note: it's kinda funny how this tank was supposed to be a "no breeding" tank and now I'm trying to breed something new haha. Also, i have some concolor cories to add to it that you KNOW I'm gonna breed. This "no breeding" thing just doesn't work for me lol.
CJs Aquatics
I’ve never bred them personally but I recall one of the YouTube fishkeepers I follow posting a relatively detailed video of how he does it and it didn’t appear very hard, I’ll try to link it for your review, I wish you success…
Mary W.
Thank you so much for posting this video! Wonderful pictures of the eggs and fry and great info. I have Ember tetras in a heavily-planted community tank and am hoping for a few babies some day but so far no luck -
