About Me

  1. I searched for "turnip" but got zero results. I decided this was the place to ask. I was tidying up the kitchen after my husband made soup and found a sprouting turnip under some paper towels. It little yellow leave were crying out for light, and I thought "why not?". I set it in the top of one of my small HOB waterfall filters and it is as happy as a clam. The deep green leaves, purple top and white bottom add a splash of unique color to the filter row. Much more fun than the lucky bamboo. It has put out a ton or roots that I hope will gobble up nitrogen in the water. Is there anything about turnips that might be bad for fish? I might try carrots next 8-) <<- I wear glasses
