Hi there 🙂
I'll try to get straight to it.
I have googled but am not having luck.
The question is;
What to do with this part cycled filter media/sponge while it's not in its intended tank?
Would you shove it into the nano tank with the plants and keep it running?
I wonder. If the beneficial bacteria is safe if it dries out and I keep it in storage with its intended tank until I set it up again?Back story to question;
A month ago I got my first ever fish tank. Yay!
It's a planted tank, aquasoil, light and filter. I have no fish yet.I set it up (My local pet shop told me to come back for the fish 24 hours after setting up the tank 😮 I'm glad I took my time and found out that was not the best way).
So it's been running for a month BUT something has happened with where I live and I needed to take down the tank and put it somewhere safe for now.
I also bought a nano tank to play with aquascape type stuff. (Yes I bought a second tank within a month of buying my first..... I caught the aquarium/aquascape bug).So much for getting straight to it.
I put the aquasoil, plants and water (from the larger tank) into this nano tank which has its own tiny filter.Repeating the question The question is; What to do with this part cycled filter media/sponge while it's not in its intended tank?

I am apparently quite out of practice of writing lol
Thanks for reading 🙂

Thank you all so much for replying.
The filter media is now in the nano tank, ready for when I can set the big tank up again.
